TL;DR : Why anyone would eat here is beyond what I can ever comprehend.
So a couple of years back a trivandrum native took me here, to my absolute dismay, the lack of cleanliness in the overall seating area, number of dead cockroaches in the hand wash area and the way food was being served absolutely killed my appetite, but to not disappoint my friend, I had a little of whatever (mutton curry) it was that they served in a saucer (the flat round thing normally used to place tea/coffee cups on) along with puttu. The meat was inedibly chewy, rubbery, bland, tasteless and in no way meant for human consumption unless the people used to consuming this have evolved over the years to be able to chew/digest this thing they serve as food.
I forgot about this incident and yet another time I happened to visit the place along with a few others who were raving about this place and we reached here at about 11.45 in the night, I wasn't planning to eat, I just joined them. They ordered yet again the famous mutton curry, along with puttu and this time the mutton was served not in a saucer like my previous experience, but neither was it presentable. They started having the food and it was more than evident how chewy the meat was, it was like tug-of-war between the guy's hands and teeth as to who would have the chunky meat, but in no way was the meat giving away to either sides. It was an absolute disaster, but social conformity doesn't allow people to call a spade a spade.
If I have been starving for 10 days and my survival depended on food and my only choice was the mutton curry from here, I'd still think hard whether to consume this monstrosity or leave this realm peacefully.
Several health code violations back to back in terms of store management, cleanliness. If this is the case out in the open, I really shudder to think what goes behind the curtain in the kitchen in terms of food preparation, how the ingredients are cleaned (they surely don't clean) and how they're handled.
Please, for the love of your health, stay...
Read moreI recently dined here and ordered chicken biriyani for two. While the food itself was satisfactory, the service was unfortunately quite disappointing.
The initial wait for our order was excessive, and the dining experience was further marred by a lack of basic amenities. Unlike other restaurants, we were not provided with additional plates to transfer the biryani, making the meal inconvenient.
When we were unable to finish the generous portion and requested to pack the remaining, we encountered further issues. The staff then pointed someone else among them and asked us to tell him. We waited a little bit more time for any other staff. Then came another staff and we asked him the same, very rudely he replied to us "tell to the one who served you this". How am I supposed to know their staffs. So we did not waited again there for receiving such arrogant responses, we just left the place.
I expressed my dissatisfaction with the service at the cash counter as well.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this...
Read moreVisited on 27 March 2024 after successfully avoiding the place for about 10 years. Ate mutton curry and puttu. Absolutely tasteless. I don’t how the mutton’s taste can be driven out so successfully. I’m genuinely curious. Mutton Corona ennu vilikkam ithine. One toilet was not working and had a chair in front of it to save people from going in. The other could be seen open from the hand washing area and the toilet looked poop stained. See, I am no neat-freak and when I say dirty, you better believe it. Avoid this place at...
