"I always tell people that Falooda was my first food crush," she says. "It's such a happy drink." – Anonymous On a summer day as the temperature rises, a cool, tall glass of Falooda comes as the great refresher, a perfect antidote for the scorching, summer heat. It is the classic food twist, where a Falooda is actually a dessert disguised as a drink. And CROWN BAKERY’s Falooda is disguised well. The long, tall glass adds to the look of a drink, but it is a dessert at heart. And your stomach will agree. It is a historic blending of silky strands of vermicelli, ice-cream, slithery black basil seeds all gingerly co-existing in a colourful splash of rose water and Khus syrup all topped up with the choicest of dry fruits sprinkled all over. Whether the origins are Persian or from the creative mind of Jehangir the Mogul King, the Falooda still retains a touch of its royal beginnings in the richness of its contents. Regardless of the version you eat, Falooda is meant to be lingered over with family and friends. It takes time to consume, encouraging you to hang out and tell stories as you slowly fill your belly with this cold treat. “ If Biriyani is India’s national dish, then the Falooda should rightly be the choice for dessert.

One of the oldest bakery in Kollam town. Its the original and first Crown Bakery. A good destination for tasty bakery items. Banana cake, halwa, cream bun are famous. Ice creams, chocolates, biscuits available. Ready to eat cooked meat products prepared as fresh also available. Bread and bun available throughout the week. U will get Butter bun, wheat bread, butter bread, sweet bread from here. Vegetable as well as meat sandwich, dhal vada, uzhunnu vada( urd vada), cutlet, samoosa and puffs can be bought. Ready to eat items like fried chiken is available. Parking is a headache and the shop is on the side of a busy road. Two wheelers won't find it difficult to park. Cash, card, UPI payment options are available. They keep Muralaya and JS (occasionally)milk for customers. Birthday cakes can be ordered here. Pastry choice is limited.
