Read moreWe tried their mutton biryani and meals. I was starving, so I didn't focus much on the restaurant itself, just wanted to fill my tummy. I ordered mutton biryani, and at first, my brother was immediately dissatisfied. He said, 'What is this? White rice and curry don’t make a biryani.' He also complained that it wasn’t spicy enough, comparing it to Arabic biryani, which has more flavor and depth. Personally, I felt it was not the best biryani, a bit overrated for the hype people give, but I have to admit the mutton was fresh and soft.
Our uncle, on the other hand, insisted it's the best biryani you can find in Kollam town, though I don’t entirely agree. Yes, it’s decent, maybe even the best around here in town, but it's far from exceptional. 🍽️ Food: The menu is packed with traditional and local delicacies. I tried their signature mutton curry and tandoori roti, and both were flavorful and cooked to perfection. The meat was tender and well-marinated, with a rich blend of spices. Their biryani is also a crowd favorite — aromatic, spicy, and generously portioned.
🧑🍳 Service: The staff was polite and attentive. The food was served hot and on time, and they were quick to accommodate special requests.
🧼 Cleanliness & Ambiance: The interiors are clean, and the seating is fairly comfortable. It might not be very fancy, but it’s neat and functional, which is great for a family or friends’ outing.
💰 Price: Reasonable pricing for the quality and quantity offered. Great value for money.
📍Verdict: A great spot if you’re craving authentic Indian non-veg cuisine. It’s not a fine-dining place, but for the taste and service, Fayalwan Hotel is...
