Hotel Aruna (Pure Veg) is a renowned and long-standing spot for vegetarian food lovers. The restaurant is praised for its clean and pleasant ambiance, making it a dependable choice for tasty vegetarian dishes.
I tried the masala dosa and puri masala, and both were absolutely delicious. The restaurant is also well-known for its affordable prices, making it a popular choice among both locals and visitors. Conveniently located in the heart of the city, it’s an ideal spot for a quick bite or a leisurely meal.
Parking would be difficult esp.on a working day!
Overall, Hotel Aruna is highly appreciated for its consistent quality, reasonable pricing, and wide variety of vegetarian offerings.
New review:
Recently ordered from this place via Zomato and tried their tomato rice, which came with beans thoran, raita, and papad. The food was tasty, fresh, and served warm—really satisfying! Packaging was neat and secure as well. Overall, I really liked it!
Even tried their mushroom fried rice..it was fine along with it , it had raita too Well packed ! Food was fresh & warm too!
Also tried their masala dosa, chapathi, and puri—all served with a variety of side curries. The taste was good overall, but the chutney can be unpredictable—sometimes extremely spicy 🌶️! The side dishes usually include chana curry, salad, sambar, tomato chutney, and coconut chutney.overall liked it ! Worth buying !!
Recent review:
I recently placed another order from this place via Zomato and tried their tomato rice with aloo sabzi, which was served along with beetroot thoran, raita, and papad.
The food was fresh, warm, and tasty, though a bit on the spicier side. I had specifically requested to reduce the spice level in the tomato rice, but unfortunately, that wasn’t followed, which was a little disappointing. the packaging was neat, secure, and well done.
Overall, a good experience, though I wish they were more attentive to...
Read moreI have been a regular customer of Aruna for the past 10-12 years.
I have seen many changes to the shop and was ok with those. But some changes that started recently has made me to reduce the good reviews.
All the new delivery services has ruined the parcel service for customer who directly pick up. Majority of these customers are those who did not get a seat at the restaurant and decided to pick food. They are made to wait endlessly as the shop caters to these delivery services.
The attitude of the cashier is hopeless. I am not mentioning about the previous guy, but the one who was at the restaurant on Nov 3 morning. He does not care about the customers who are waiting for the parcel or do something for speeding up. The earlier guy used to follow up and chase the waiters to speed up. Second thing is he does not know to swipe a card at POS. This is not a lone incident, he simply disregards customers, handles the card in a flimsy manner. As a cashier he should be able to do cards as well. If it was one time we could understand, but if it has become more than 5 times over couple of months, that's not acceptable. Either he should learn or place someone who can do it for him.
Note : the food is great, no...
Read moreI’m sharing my experience after visiting Hotel Aruna, a simple and neat vegetarian hotel located right opposite Saphalyam Complex, very close to University College in Palayam, Trivandrum.
What I really liked is that it opens early in the morning, which is a big plus when most other restaurants are still closed. Perfect place to grab a quick breakfast before a busy day.
I had masala dosa, poori with masala, and tea – all were served hot and tasted fresh. The dosa was crisp, and the sambar and chutneys were tasty. The tea was surprisingly good, strong with the right amount of sweetness. It gave a nice start to the day.
Though it’s a pure veg hotel, the food doesn’t lack flavor or variety. The staff were polite, the service was fast, and the overall vibe was clean and peaceful. They also have a counter with sweets and snacks if you want to pack something.
It’s a good option for students, locals, and anyone around Palayam looking for affordable and quality vegetarian food. I’d say it’s one of those low-key places that serve honest, tasty food without...
