Kettuvallam Restaurant — Restaurant in Kerala

Ended up eating here with friends as the 'Taal' restaurant, the one which we were targeting turned out to be the fav hangout of Rajagiri students on that particular Friday. This one is the 2nd outlet of Kettuvallom restaurants, which I have seen near Kaloor Stadium I believe. The boat structure outside is identical. And mind you, these folks are also non-vegetarian. There is no parking lot, so find your own parking on the side of the road. You have to walk through a suspended iron bridge from the seaport airport road to get to them. Lighting is good. And chairs okay, tables adequate and they have 6 chair, 4 chair and 2 chair tables. This place could do with a bit more space I believe. And I feel that management could be better , I mean when you don't have many seats you have to manage better. And I found lone diners occupying table for 4 table for 2 were just empty. We were really looking for a kerala lunch, so the leaf plate lunch with fish curry was quite welcoming. And we ordered beef fry and beef roast. Food was good. Quantity was pretty ok. As it's Kerala lunch, they served two times at least and rice was red-boiled rice. Beef roast was good and the fry was awesome. Poor service. I will never recommend. We have been there more than twice. Everytime when we ask for traditional meals which is their highlight they do say they have and they take orders from us n they will start serving. Within seconds they wil tell us the food is over and curries are no more n they do not serve. Everytime they say that the payasam is over .we havent tasted it yet. They keep saying everything is over and they charge us high. Why cant they inform us that the meals are over when v place order at the 1st place. N if they r serving us then they should serve us the complete meals including curries n payasam or else they should not serve. Very much disappointed with kettuvallam resturant. We will never visit u again. We already tried 3 to 4 times n each time the same thing happened so why should we go again. everytime they have the same problem. I had dinner with my family and it was the worst food we have had. We ordered chappati and appam, which were served cold and stale,not even warmed up well!!!. On asking the waiter, if we can have something made fresh, he said all the food is made at their main restaurant and distributed to all their other hotels. Well,I live overseas and didn't have to visit a restaurant in Kerala to be served cold stale kerala food !!!! Today's special seafood"kuttanadan karimeen curry" was not at all upto the mark !!!Karimeen was not fresh!!! Naadan chicken curry and egg curry were ok!!!!
