So I took my in-laws for Lunch at this restaurant.. We thought of trying some place different from the tried and tested Calicut Notebook next to it.. I should have never done that.. I regret going to this place.. So below are some of the issues I encountered.. Hand wash area - No tissue papers to dry after washing.
We ordered 4 Chicken Biryanis - We were expecting it to be Dum Biryani, but it's my fault that I didn't ask them while ordering. So fried Chicken Biryani was served to us. How they served food is a joke as well.. Initially 1 CB was served, then 2 CBs were served and after waiting, the last CB was served 🤦🏻.
Next, the quality of the food. We expected Dum Biryani, but yes fried CB was served. I don't blame them for that. I should have specifically asked that while ordering. But it was more like Ghee Rice and Chicken Roast served in a plate. In my plate, I received 2 pieces of chicken. One was a piece of bone and less meat, (the ones that are not usually served with a biryani). The other one was a small piece. My In-laws got chicken that were not fully cooked. The meat was hard and was not coming off the bone. Pappadams were not fully crisp it was a bit cold. Biryani was not served hot.
Next, the guy increased the volume of the music for no reason. They were playing an English pop song that I would have enjoyed any other time, but while having lunch and talking with my in-laws it was too lound and disturbing.
I informed the Manager about all the above mentioned issues, he put a sorry face while listening to my complaints, the only thing he did was reduce the volume of the music. He asked us if we wanted another set of Biryani, that we declined. The new biryani would be the same stuff being served either way.
Worst part is, despite making all these complaints he had the audacity to charge us the full bill amount which is Rs 210 per plate excluding taxes.. The price of a CB at Calicut Notebook is Rs 230 a mere Rs 20 difference. I told the Manager, with an excellent restaurant next door it would be very hard for them to survive if they continue with this kind of service.
I don't understand why anyone would go to this restaurant when you have Calicut Notebook next door. If the prices were a factor to pick this restaurant, then there is no huge price difference between the two restaurants. I would never go to this place again nor would I recommend this to anyone. Keep away from this place. There is no customer service nor good food.
In a place flooded with restaurants, good food is one thing, good customer service is what makes people come back...

Read moreWe had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant . While the place looked clean and hygienic, that’s the only good thing I can say.
There were no other customers even though the place had plenty of space—this should have been our first warning. We ordered chicken soup, chicken curry, and chicken chilly. To our shock, everything tasted terrible. The chicken soup was completely bland and watery—no flavor at all. The chicken chilly was even worse. It was full of bones with hardly any meat. We were genuinely surprised at how the chef could serve food like this to customers.
We raised our concerns with the staff. They apologized and reduced the price for the chicken chilly, but we weren’t looking for a discount—we simply wanted decent food. The quality was unacceptable, and we left completely disappointed.
Please improve your food standards. Serving this kind of meal is not fair to...
