I recently dined at Momo Wang, a Chinese restaurant, and had a mixed experience. The standout dishes were definitely the momos and the dragon chicken. The momos were delicious, with a flavorful filling and perfectly steamed wrappers. The dragon chicken was equally impressive, with a delightful balance of sweet and spicy flavors that left a satisfying kick on the palate.
However, not everything was a hit. The noodles I ordered were disappointingly oily, detracting from the otherwise enjoyable meal. The excessive oiliness overshadowed the flavors and made the dish feel heavy.
Unfortunately, the dining environment was also a letdown. The seating arrangement was congested, leaving little room to comfortably enjoy the meal. Additionally, the lack of proper ventilation or air conditioning made the restaurant uncomfortably hot, which definitely impacted the overall dining experience.
Despite these drawbacks, the attentive service from the staff was a silver lining. They were courteous and prompt in taking orders and addressing requests, which helped alleviate some of the discomfort caused by the environment.
In conclusion, Momo Wang has some definite culinary highlights, particularly their delectable momos and flavorful dragon chicken. However, the inconsistency in dishes, particularly the excessively oily noodles, and the cramped, uncomfortably hot seating detracted from the overall enjoyment. With some improvements in both the food quality and dining environment, Momo Wang has the potential to offer a more satisfying and well-rounded...
Read moreReally good spot smack dab in the centre of the bus stand. Solely consisting of Thai and Indo-Chinese food, it’s light on the wallet and heavy on the stomach and more importantly, a place that doesn’t necessarily treat South East Asian food as a cuisine to pad the menu out
For starters, I’d recommend the Honey Chilli Potatoes and the standard momos.
For mains, I went with the schezwan chicken noodles with kung pao chicken curry and 2 momos combo for 150 a head that allows you to sample all the styles in a quick and cheap amount.
On the Thai side, there is the Thai Fried Rice that’s also pretty good although for mine, the sunny side egg yolk wasn’t as runny as I would have liked.
Overall, a great place to just sit back and watch the hustle and bustle of the city go by (and trust me, it’s on full display) while enjoying a...
Read moreA good momo spot in calicut providing tasty momos in an affordable rate. We ordered a fried chicken momos along with chicken fried rice and chilly chicken. The spot is very close to the new bus stand in kozhikode. The only drawback that i felt is that it's an open area, there's no private space as such and since it's side by the main road the food may get contaminated by the dust and smoke. At least the windows should have a glass panel. The waiters are well behaved and the orders were also served very quickly. It provides a wide variety of different momos. The fried momos with the sauce were tastier than the steamed ones. Fried rice wasn't upto the expectations and nothing much to say about the chilly chicken but a point to note is that the food plating was...
