Paragon Restaurant is a well-known name in the food scene, especially for lovers of authentic Malabar cuisine. My recent visit was a mixed experience, with both highlights and disappointments worth noting.
Starting with the positives, the food was undeniably the star of the show. The Malabar biryani, both chicken and mutton, was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The spices were well-balanced, and the aroma was irresistible. The appam and stew were equally delightful, and the seafood dishes were fresh and well-seasoned. Their signature dessert, the tender coconut pudding, was a pleasant surprise and a must-try.
The ambiance was clean and family-friendly, with tasteful decor and ample seating space. The staff was polite and attentive, doing their best to manage even during busy hours. The service was relatively quick during non-peak times.
However, there were a few negatives that stood out. First, the waiting time during rush hours can be extremely long, and the reservation system doesn’t always seem to help. Secondly, parking is a major challenge, especially in the evenings, which can be frustrating if you're coming with family or in a group.
Also, while the food was mostly excellent, consistency could be improved. On one occasion, the biryani felt a bit dry compared to previous visits. Lastly, the pricing is slightly on the higher side, which may not suit every budget, especially considering the occasional inconsistency in service and quality.
In conclusion, Paragon is a great spot if you're looking to explore authentic South Indian and Malabar dishes in a decent setting. While it has its drawbacks in terms of wait time, parking, and consistency, the food often makes up for it. Worth a visit — but maybe during off-peak hours for the...

Read moreWe usually eats from paragon. Lunch and dinner. But today we had breakfast from there. It was really bad. The breads were fine but the fish and chicken was not fresh at all. We ordered aavoli fish mulakitath and chicken stew, we could understand the difference between the tastes cause both of them were not fresh at all. The thing we noted was , if we had eaten from downstairs it would have been better and we would have got better food. They told us to go upstairs and the food was really not worth the money. We eat from there and when the food is good, we don't complain about the money but today we ate, it wasn't fresh at all and the price was over. If yall are going to paragon for breakfast remember to eat from down and not...
