Extremely Disappointing Experience at Thaff Restaurant, Alappuzha
I visited Thaff Restaurant near the General Hospital in Alappuzha on 26th February 2025, hoping for a pleasant experience, but unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I've had. It was a special day for me, and the entire experience was ruined.
I ordered half a chicken biryani and a full prawn biryani, as I knew I wouldnāt be able to finish a full chicken biryani. Iāve had half portions of biryani from other restaurants (which served much better food than Thaff), so I thought it would be fine. To my surprise, the waiter responded very rudely, as if I was asking for something unreasonable. If they couldnāt serve a half biryani, a simple explanation would have been enough, but his response made me feel like I was asking for free food. He was dismissive and lacked basic customer service skills. Iāve been to this restaurant a few times before, but the service today was just unacceptable.
Due to time constraints, I requested the food to be packed as a parcel. However, the waiter went into the kitchen and started shouting orders at the kitchen staff. It was incredibly unprofessional and made the entire experience uncomfortable.
As for the food, I was very disappointed. The chicken biryani was average at bestānothing special. The prawn biryani was bland and not up to the markāit didnāt even resemble a decent prawn biryani. Honestly, my friend's mother could have cooked a better prawn biryani at home. Some might think I'm posting a negative review just because of the bad service, but the food was genuinely mediocre. Very average, in fact.
Thaff Restaurant seems to rely on its past reputation, but if they donāt improve both the quality of their food and customer service, they will lose loyal customers. If you're serious about improving your business, I suggest teaching your staff how to treat customers properly. Otherwise, youāll lose not only your customers but also your reputation.
I will never visit again, and I certainly wonāt recommend Thaff to any of my family or friends. What should have been a special day ended up being a disappointing experience....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited Thaff, Alappuzha and had a wonderful experience. I ordered Chicken 65, Chicken Roast, Appam, and Porotta, and everything was simply amazing.
The Chicken 65 was crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and perfectly spiced ā not too oily, just the right balance of flavors. The Chicken Roast was rich and aromatic, with a delicious gravy that paired perfectly with both Appam and Porotta. The Appams were soft and fluffy in the center with crispy edges, just how they should be. The Porottas were layered, flaky, and fresh, making the meal even more enjoyable.
Apart from the food, the service was quick, and the staff were polite and attentive. The ambiance was simple but comfortable, giving more focus to the food quality.
Overall, it was an awesome experience ā tasty food, reasonable pricing, and a place Iād definitely recommend to anyone visiting Alappuzha. Looking forward to trying more dishes from their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis Thaff restaurant have several branches in Alappuzha. This is one of the best restaurant in Alleppey, This branch interior is arranged well but too much congested. Because the spacious inside is very low, when was last time I visited here there is no seat available,so I waited for 15 minutes at the reception and get a slot for dining. This restaurant provides good quality food,The one of the main dish that serving here is biriyani, I recently visited here last week, I ordered biryani, after some minutes they served it. It is so tasty and vere satisfied and the salad with the biriyani is also superb. My family also enjoyed the biriyani. The parking space is very limited, we should find street parking ,but it has also difficult to find because, the restaurant is situated at district hospital junction and the street is very congested, there is no Street parking available nearby.Overall good experience from...
