After four years of visiting Mother India I experienced my first bad meal —

Sadly disappointed. The first two items I ordered they were out of. I settled for Dahl Makhani & veg parantha.

When my meal arrived the Dahl looked unlike any other I had had in India. Same with the taste, not very tasty. Other Dahl Mahhani have had robust & hearty flavors. Not so with this dish.

It was accompanied by two roti— which I had not ordered. When I brought it to the attention of the server he looked at me and said we’re out of parantha. As it turned out the roti with the best part of the meal.

Plan B: i ordered rice to go with it. When it arrived it was the swollen grain water logged basmati. In Asia?Need I go on.

Very homely place. The owners are amazing and very friendly. Infact we left our kids at the place for over an hour while we went to visit a doctor next door. The kids were totally cool and had fun all the while. Everything here is made to order right in front of you. 100% customization can be done for each dish. The downside can be that it takes a bit of time. But it's well worth the wait. And the place is spacious with a big green campus inside, so wait is also not that bad. This vegetarian place is a bit „western“ style in Kovalam. By that I mean a structured menu and the open kitchen. You see how your food is prepared.

Indian and Italian dishes. The owner is running it since many years.

Some choices: the cheapest Avocado Salad in Kovalam (200 INR) Even though salads in general are not good here. Masala dosa is a good portion and tasty Tomato-Cheese Jaffle (a kind of toast) is really good for lunch here their Cabbage Kachadi is the dish of choice for vegans and low-carb eaters several Dahl (lentils) vegan-cooked options available and I liked the taste
