Read moreI visited CCDs (Hathibagan in Kolkata), on 15 June 2025. Some how maximum items in the menu were not available. However we order for a Guava refresher drink I visited Café Coffee Day (CCD) at Hathibagan, Kolkata, on 15th June 2025. Unfortunately, most of the items on the menu were unavailable. Despite the limited options, we placed an order for a Guava Refresher and a Café Latte.
Two different menu cards were provided to us. One listed two options for Café Latte:
Regular (250ml) – ₹224
King – ₹254
The other menu card, however, mentioned a Café Latte priced at ₹305. While placing the order, no one informed us that we would be charged ₹305. I clearly asked for a regular coffee, expecting the 250ml option priced at ₹224.
Even when I raised this concern with the staff later, the order taker flatly stated that they charge only as per the second menu card. If that is the case, why was the first menu card presented at all? Why are the same items listed at different prices on different menus? As a customer, shouldn't I have the option to select the item I prefer, at the quantity and price I am comfortable with?
I did not want a 350ml cup—it was unnecessary for me. However, I was forced to accept and pay for it without prior consent or clarification. This practice is not customer-friendly. It is unreasonable for the staff to decide which version of a product the customer must have, especially without informing them of the price differences.
This was a highly inconvenient and...
Read moreThis is the third time in last 2 weeks my order for the Guava Refresher Summer Special was rejected, stating that the ingredients are not available. If the ingredients are that scarce, then why is it still not being discontinued?! When I asked them about the specific timing of the day for the availability of the same, they could never give me any specific answer. Another thing I am noticing for the last couple of months for this specific outlet, whenever I have visited the outlet after 9:30pm they have an extremely disinterested body language, they are almost irritated to attend to anymore customers whenever it is nearing the closing time. I think they are either understaffed or underpaid or may be both. Once I was even told that there is only one person in the entire outlet to take the order & prepare it too, so I was suggested that I will have to wait to place my order until the order of the previous person is prepared & served, ridiculous! I definitely blame the higher management for allowing such a shitty work culture to run this specific outlet. I have been visiting this specific shop for long enough to know the people by their names, who work over there, and that is exactly why this change of behaviour is so aggressively...
