Chai Break - Zasu — Restaurant in Kolkata

I have been visiting Chai Break since 2014, and it has always been one of my go-to places for casual dining and good ambience. However, during my recent visit to Chai Break Zasu, I was quite disappointed with the Hawaiian Salad. Traditionally, Hawaiian salad is served cold and does not contain fermented mustard sauce. Unfortunately, the version served here was completely different and did not meet expectations. It’s important for a reputed place like this to maintain authenticity in their dishes.

That said, there were some positives that stood out. The sheesha was excellent—especially when prepared by Mr. Mandeep, who clearly knows how to set it up right for a smooth experience.

Also, a special mention to Mr. Khursheed, the food server. He was very polite, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful in explaining the menu and guiding us through the order. His service definitely enhanced our overall dining experience.

The overall atmosphere at Chai Break Zasu is nice and relaxing. However, the experience could be improved further by maintaining better entry standards—some guests clearly didn’t match the otherwise pleasant vibe of the place.

I hope the team takes this feedback constructively, especially with regard to food authenticity and guest management. Looking forward to a better experience next time.

Aqua Java Zasu

AJ is a very well known place in the town. This outlet is located in Dover Road, Ballygunge.

What to say about the restaurant, well this place covers the whole building and offers both indoor and out seating. This is an absolute chill place and has attractive interior. This place also has pool table and other board games too. The average cost for two people os ₹. 700/-

Passion Fruit Mojito Soda - The drink was authentic and brilliant. It was not much sweet. Take a sip of it and you will definitely fell refreshing. The price is ₹. 199/-

Roasted Garlic Bread - The garlic bread tasted delicious. They were roasted little bit and was crunchy. It was served with tomato sauce and went very well with the drink. The price is ₹. 139/-

Cruditer Salad - The Salad comprises of vegetables like carrot, cucumber, cabbage, tomato and capsicum. It was served with a dip. The taste of the salad was brilliant. The price is ₹. 189/-
