We went for a family lunch on Saturday, 22nd Dec. My brother and sister in law were here on a short vacation and they had made an online booking. The lady at the desk was not able to find the relevant reservations, but quickly escorted us upstairs to the buffet section. It is a spacious room and the tables were neatly laid. We were the only guests it seemed! The starters arrived quite promptly and arranged on the mini tandoors in the middle of every table-a very innovative touch! There was a variety of non veg kebabs on offer, the chicken reshmi was quite tasty although the fish was bland. The prawns were really small and the mutton sheekh kebab was spicy. The veg items were good-paneer, potatoes mushroom and pineapple, all on skewers ! By this time the buffet spread was on the table. We had to ask for the soup as the cauldron was empty! The veg items were all good - fried rice, noodles au gratin, but the non veg ones did not look half as appealing! The portions on offer were really small and appeared like left overs from previous days , like there were 8 pieces of mutton in the rogan josh! The rotis were not as soft as they should be but the kulcha was ! The best part of the meal was reserved for the last though!! The dessert section was absolutely delectable!! They brought in a ginger bread house to add to the festive spirit! Every pastry and cheesecake and tart was delicious ! The gajar halwa was also good! The ice cream counter had only the regular flavours but the embellishments were nice! The staff was friendly and helpful and the service prompt! It was a nice experience overall and I would definitely recommend it. However, the location is a bit of a put off and the exterior of the building is not flattering at all ! Anyway, at the end of the day, good...

Charcoal Grill in Park Circus, Kolkata, is a delightful spot for food lovers, offering a great dining experience with quality food and excellent service. Here's a detailed review:
Food Quality:
The food quality here is exceptional. The starters truly stand out—each dish is served hot and boasts fantastic flavors. A special mention goes to the mutton seekh kebab, which is incredibly soft, perfectly spiced, and literally melts in your mouth.
Main Course:
Although the main course menu is limited, every dish is crafted to please the taste buds. The mutton kosha deserves to be their signature dish. It's a masterpiece—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, offering the same melt-in-the-mouth experience as the starters.
Desserts:
The dessert section is a bit underwhelming with limited variety, which could leave dessert enthusiasts wanting more.
Service and Ambience:
The staff at Charcoal Grill are friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance is simple and comfortable. While it lacks thematic or high-end decor, the environment is warm and welcoming
Overall Verdict: Charcoal Grill is an excellent choice for those seeking flavorful starters and mouthwatering mutton dishes in a no-frills, friendly environment. While the desserts could use an upgrade, the rest of the experience more than makes up for it. Highly recommended for food enthusiasts who value quality and taste over...
Read moreCharcoal Grill, situated under the Park Circus Maa flyover, is one of the well-known restaurants in Kolkata for their lunch and dinner buffets. The restaurant serves Chinese and North-Indian cuisine, while they also specialise in seafood. We had walked in for lunch one of these days. While most of the restaurants were closed towards the second half of the afternoon, Charcoal Grill turned out to be our saviour. We decided to have their lunch buffet. The widespread buffet consisted of both Chinese as well as North-Indian items. We enjoyed the hot and hot starters, grilled on the table itself. The restaurant, also popular for their variety of kebabs serves Veg, Chicken, Fish and Prawn kebabs. All were steaming hot and fresh. The starters are unlimited, and one can enjoy as much as kebabs they wish to have. We filled our stomachs with so much of Kebabs that there wasn't sufficient space to try out their main course and desserts properly. As we were satisfied with the starters, which were very appetizing, we could hardly savour the other items. Hot Garlic pepper fish (Bhetki) was served as a complimentary dish while we were relishing our kebabs. The desserts were enticing too and we thoroughly...
