Serafina - Quest Mall — Restaurant in Kolkata

We visited Serafina today for lunch in search of authentic Italian food and we weren't disappointed. We ordered a Ricotta and Spinach stuffed Ravioli to start with. The pasta, the filling and the sauce were all very well balanced and delicious. Next we called for a Spaghetti Carbonara. I was worried I would be stuck with pasta in a mess of white bechamel sauce as is the norm in the city but was pleasantly surprised and relieved by the egg yolk-cream-parmesan liaison the spaghetti was tossed in along with flavourful bacon bits. This was followed by the Pepperoni Pizza which was perfect in terms of the thin base, the quality of meat as well as the seasoning of the marinara. Simply beautiful. And finally we ordered for a Spaghetti Bolognese. This was great too but i felt this was the weakest link in our meal. The meat ragout could have had more texture for sure. The only reason for not giving this place five stars is that I felt the price in comparison to their portion sizes were quite disproportionate. A portion of pasta that costs Rs 1200+ is barely enough for even one person. I also felt the wait time for the food was pretty long considering we were the only other table seated at the time and the bread basket offered to us while we waited contained 4 tiny bread rolls for the four of us. I observed through the afternoon that the same number was given to all tables that came, whether they were 4 people or 1 person. Overall I felt the food here was authentic, delicious and the ingredients sourced were uncompromised. However it failed to feel value for money despite its fantastic food due to its portion sizes and lack of few touches. This Italian chain of restaurant is definitely a facelift of Kolkata in terms of having international gastronomic experience. It's another Feather on the cap of Quest mall, Park Circus. The ambience here is cool, seating capacity is not too voluptuous, thereby serving time is reasonable good. The length of the menu card is again not too long but definitely choices are sufficient to fill your stomach with satisfaction. Being a Italian restaurant, the food served here are devoid of too much spices, so easily digestible food is guaranteed on your platter. It is definitely not for people craving for deep fried spicy Moghlai type of dishes. To name, Pizzas are I believe best in town whereas I tried my taste buds with a starter of Prawn item and finally main course with "Petto Di Pollo Grigliato E Pepe Nero" , which is nothing but Chicken breast with smashed potato. Both the dishes were delicious. The choice of Wine, I am leaving to individual choice. On cost part, it's absolutely expensive but given the ambience, and food quality I may recommend it for sure to younger generation, who dares to experience the uncertain !...

We began with the fish fingers and goat cheese bruschetta as appetizers—both were excellent. The fish fingers came with a side of French fries with a unique tangy-spicy seasoning that added a fun twist.

For mains, we ordered the chicken carbonara, penne la pollo, and the braised bhetki. The penne came generously portioned, with a rich creamy topping—perfect for my kids to share and enjoy. The carbonara was indulgent and flavorful, while the braised bhetki, served with mashed potatoes and sautéed greens, was a standout.

To finish, we shared a hazelnut crème brûlée. The kids had a great time cracking the caramelized top and diving into the smooth custard underneath—an entertaining and tasty end to the meal.
