Serving with a Smile 😊 is what important. This guy has got it right. Quite courteous always very polite dealing with his customers with a smile. Someone said Customer is like a God. So if one can't treat them as "God" I suggest at least be "Human". Being rude will fetch nothing.
After much social media hype and fizz about this "Club Cachodi" I planned a visit to this area. Initially I visited another nearby "Club Cachodi" stall about which there was much mixed reaction on the social media. If I have to be straight from my heart I would say I didn't like the behavior of shopkeeper (uncle). He was so rude with almost all his customers. His attitude was as such that he is doing some favour by selling kachodis to them. Also the surrounding was quite dirty and unhygienic. Apart all the way he was serving and his work area was disgusting. I was amazed that to what extent the "Social Media" could mis-lead and fool people. So my suggestion to all of you is only believe when iou see it by yourself. Do not totally even rely on this post of my go check out for yourself and if you find what I have stated here is correct do comment on the post.
Then I could not eat kachoudis in that disgusting environment so I was leaving with heavy heart when then I spotted this shop and someone nearby told me that this shop also sells "Club Kachodi". It's just at the entrance of the road. Relatively decent area. Adequately hygienic and clean. The best part was the way the young guy greeted us with a gentle smile. I was quite hungry and ordered kachouri. The taste was good but honestly this entire "Club kachodi" fizz and hype is unworthy. The only idea is it's made with dal hence a bit different taste. Once in a while if you are in the area you may certainly go amd have it for change of taste, but would not recommend to go exclusively for it. But the take home point is the Shopkeeper at Pappi ji Maharaj is the game changer. He has a bright future if he keeps on honoring his customers thr same way as I noticed that day with us and others around.
Best wishes to him.
And thank uou dear readers and followers for your patient read. Catch you soon with another "fact check".
With you happy times and Neverending smiles...
Read moreThe only interesting primary difference is that the Kochuri's accompanying shobji (alur torkari) here is served with a last minute garnish of Bhujia sprinkled on it instead. Which actually doesn't taste good.
Club Kochuri with Torkari ₹9/- per piece. Sometimes overcharge at ₹10/- per piece instead if buying less than 4 pieces, and force customers to buy whole plate of ₹36/- or 4 pieces initially otherwise. Jilipi is always available per piece.
Only the smaller sized thicker and harder club kochuri is served here. The shobji (alur torkari) is very less spicy and relatively bland compared to the usual taste of this accompanying torkari here in Kolkata.
The owner or much younger person serving kochuri here is apparently unrelated to the owner of the other outlet Lali Chhangani barely 10 to 15 meters away inside that same lane from Kalakar Street. Food is practically the same and bland and tasteless in both. Only behaviour towards customer is slightly better here and maybe a little less rude, cosmetic attempts have also been made here to relatively improve hygiene with a place to wash hands designated and not directly on where the food is served, and there was no visible child labour unlike in the other shop. The place is unhygienic otherwise. The portion of the street in front of the shop where one has to eat in is still very dirty and littered. And the food is served with liberal use of bare hands by the owner without any gloves or hygienic handling.
It is a relatively bad...
