Green Palace Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Kolkata

I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with my recent visit to Green Palace Bar & Restaurant on 13th Oct' 23. I was denied entry into your establishment due to my choice of attire, specifically, my decision to wear half pants.

Upon arriving at Green Palace Bar & Restaurant, I was not made aware of any dress code policy either through their website or by the staff. I was looking forward to enjoying a meal at the restaurant, and as a patron, I expected to be treated with respect and fairness.

However, to my surprise, I was denied entry by the staff members who cited my attire as the reason. I understand that some restaurants may have dress codes in place, but without any prior information or signage indicating such a requirement, I believe I was unfairly treated. My intention was to dine and enjoy the services that Green Palace Bar & Restaurant has to offer, and I believe that clothing choices should not be a barrier to such experiences.

I kindly request that they reconsider the dress code policy and ensure that it is clearly communicated to all potential patrons. Transparency in such matters not only avoids misunderstandings but also helps create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for customers.

I would appreciate it if they could provide a response to this matter, addressing the incident and any steps taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future. I sincerely hope that my feedback will contribute to a more positive experience for future patrons of Green Palace Bar & Restaurant.

Going to this place was a result of a mad scramble. At the beginning it felt kinda dicey and shady , u have to climb up a flight of stairs , 2-4 tables were kept reserved, however we got a decent table .

The goal was to have some beer and we ordered a draught kingfisher however it was just the 2 of us so we went for the least amount .

For the sides we were served with diced onions dipped in vinegar , sprouts, and julienned ginger .

Other than the beer we ordered for Chilli chicken dry which was a knockout, i mean it absolutely hit the spot. Wonderfully sauteed with capsicums, onions and seasonings. It had eight decent sized pieces of chicken. We asked for a stir fry, they gave us the stir fry . No complaints at all .

The cost for 2 ppl came down to 745/- which i think is pretty decent.

An extremely dangerous joint. No doubt the food and drinks pocket friendly. But the waiters headed by their ringleader ‘Bapi’ are highly obnoxious. If you cannot satisfy them with the tips they follow the customers outside and a few yards away from the joint they physically assault and rob the victim. As the customers leaving the bar are normally in a tipsy state they are in no position to approach the police.
