The power of social media has made this eatery a much more exciting place for any newbie. Rs. 50-80 for tea, and that also sells like hot cakes can make you imagine how much traffic they attract on a daily basis and speaking about festive days, they might hardly get time to rest for a minute. One very interesting thing I discovered was that they serve on driveways as well, which means if you come here in your four wheeler they will attend you there which means that you can enjoy your food inside your car also. Pricing is on the expensive side but not that expensive. The quantity to price is not that great and I think they are on a more quality side which is good. I tried Amritsari Paneer Chur Chur Kulcha, and the taste was best as it almost reaches the taste of Amritsar but the quantity may disappoint for someone. The pack charges are extra so keep that in mind also. Overall the place is good, on the 1st floor there they had an Ac restaurant as well to spend some family time or friends fun time. (Costing varies for some items in the AC spaces so keep that in mind.) Try to come on normal days only. Happy food experience to all 😌

I've been to Balwan Singh Dhaba multiple times, and unfortunately, my experience has been getting worse each time. Initially, this was my favorite place, but now I’ve decided I’ll never go back. I’m specifically talking about the AC seating on the top floor. The service there is extremely poor and slow. They often ignore customers, and at times, there’s only one or two waiters serving the entire floor. The waiters display a lot of attitude and don’t seem interested in serving you. There's no sense of hospitality, which makes the experience even more frustrating. As for the food, it has become very inconsistent. I like the Dal Tarka very much, but I don't get the same taste every time. Out of the multiple times I’ve been there, I’ve only experienced good taste twice. If you visit five to seven times, you might get good food once. This inconsistency has been really disappointing. Earlier, this was my go-to spot, but I don’t understand why they’ve let their service quality drop so drastically. Update: If you’re planning to sit upstairs in the AC section, be prepared for some really bad service. There’s also a strange smell in the AC area, which adds to the discomfort. I’ve heard that if you sit downstairs, where there's no AC, the service is much faster and the prices are lower too. But upstairs, they operate with a different kitchen, and the experience is far from pleasant. They often refuse to serve regular chapatis and instead insist on giving you Tandoori Roti, which isn’t that good. Latest Update: The last time we visited, we were treated very rudely by the staff. We had brought some special guests, and the poor service was embarrassing. We complained to the owner and walked out without even eating. This experience sealed the deal for me—I've decided I’ll never go back to this place again. If you’re considering dining here, especially in the AC section, you might want to think.

So after hearing a lot about this place, finally yesterday I went to this food joint located near PG Hospital /Elgin Bus stop/ Golmandir. There was no problem to find out this place since it is on proper main roadside. I and my friend went to this place after checking photos and reviews on Zomato. So first thing after entering, we realized this was a non-ac place. Moreover, if all the tables are full, the place becomes very much suffocating. We ordered - Rice Thali- Rs.70 Paneer Paratha- Rs.60 Chana Masala- Rs.140 Veg Pulao- Rs.100. Coming to all the items one by one: Rice thali had two very ordinary sabzi and salads and a lot of rice. Rice quality was good and quantity of the rice was much more for a single person. Paneer paratha was really thick, both the stuffing and coating. Stuffing was mixture of paneer and potato with sizzling of Jeera. It tasted good. One single paratha was kind of a full lunch for me. Paneer paratha was served with Pickle and curd. Quantity of fried rice was good and it was with full of veggies. Chana masala was the best among all the dishes I had tried here. It looked spicy but it didn’t taste too spicy. Overall the taste of food was good as well as quantity. BUT,if you are expecting to have some Punjabi food and flavours over there, then stop expecting. This place basically serve very much local food, the rice thali was exactly like what we Bengalis eat Daily at our Home, nothing special. Fried rice and chana Masala were just like the food we get in local shops and caterars. So if you are planning to visit here to have Punjabi cuisine as for their name, then you are wrong and this place is not recommended.

The site for get together Chai sessions with best friends once back in Kolkata, Balwant Singh Dhaba has a charming, laid-back ambiance associated with Kolkata, with its high tables, a busy crowd which never thins even at late night, that makes you crave for Kolkata even more. The Kesar Chai is its highlight—perfectly brewed with a blend of saffron that left a warm and comforting aftertaste. Additionally, I paired my tea with some crispy samosas that were just the right amount of spicy. They also offer a variety of sumptuous Punjabi food for the more hungrier crowd. The service was quick and friendly; the staff was attentive without being intrusive, making my visit all the more enjoyable. Prices were incredibly affordable, with generous portions and great value for the quality of both the tea and snacks.

This legendary eating house is right next to the famous Gurudwara of Bhowanipore, which is located in South Kolkata. I have had very fond memories of this place which serves some of the best tandoori cuisines in Kolkata.Always a very crowded place with a bit of a seating crunch. But the food and the care with which it is served compensates for everything. Must try: 1.Masala Kulcha 2.Tandoori Roti 3.Kebab Platter 4.Paneer Butter Masala 5.Aloo Paratha 6.Paneer Do Pyaaza 7.Stuffed Tandoori Aloo 8.Doodh Cola 1 litre If you have finished eating all these then definitely try a platter order Jalebi(4 pieces). I can guarantee you even if you want to grab a bite for some snacks you are going to come back to this place again and again😊 Sometimes Old is Really Gold…as the elders say❤️

Regarded as one of the most famous and established Punjabi Dhabas in the City of Joy, Kolkata. But contrary to my expectations, this Punjabi vegetarian restaurant offers nothing special for the price that they charge. Some of the pros and cons that I had experienced are given below. Pros : 1) Decent food quality. 2) Accepts Paytm. 3) Easy to locate. Cons : 1) EXTREMELY unhygienic & unclean eating area. I don't know why the authorities don't take any action for the sake of the customers. 2) Exorbitant food prices, which are equivalent to non-veg dishes. 3) Irresponsive waiters and unsatisfactory customer service. 4) No Covid-19 social distancing observed inside the restaurant, it's very congested. 5) Overcharging on the food order. Not highly recommended.
