Indu Coffee House: A Mixed Bag of Flavors Indu Coffee House is one of those places that promises an exciting culinary experience, but our visit was a mix of hits and misses.
Refreshing Start: The Cold Brews We kicked off with two cold brews—Watermelon Cold Brew and Hazelnut Cold Brew. The Watermelon Cold Brew was surprisingly refreshing, blending the subtle sweetness of watermelon with the robust coffee flavors. On the other hand, the Hazelnut Cold Brew had a strong roasted coffee aroma, which, for me, was slightly overwhelming.
Satisfying Bites: Roasted Chilli Pork & Bhetki Fish Fry The Roasted Chilli Pork was delicious, with a well-balanced tangy and spicy sauce complementing the pork. However, after a few bites, the tanginess felt a bit overpowering—possibly due to tamarind? Also, I had expected a distinct roasted aroma, which was missing.
The Bhetki Fish Fry was, hands down, the best dish of the evening. The batter was perfectly crisp—not too thick, not too thin—and the fish was fresh and well-marinated with a flavorful cilantro paste. Served with mustard sauce and a refreshing onion-cucumber salad, this dish was an absolute winner. Honestly, they should consider making it a special on their menu.
A Disappointing Turn: Chicken Ala Kiev & Grilled Chicken Steak This is where things went downhill. We ordered Chicken Ala Kiev and Grilled Chicken Steak with Rice & Mushroom Sauce. Unfortunately, both dishes arrived one after the other, leaving our Grilled Chicken Steak to go cold. A simple heads-up from the server before serving both at once would have been appreciated.
Chicken Ala Kiev looked promising at first—the butter oozed out beautifully as we cut into it. But the excitement ended there. The chicken tasted bland, with butter being the only noticeable flavor. Even after adding salt and pepper, it lacked depth. Given its popularity on social media, this dish did not live up to the hype. Grilled Chicken Steak was a complete disaster. The steak was completely unseasoned except for the barbecue sauce, which was underwhelming. The rice was overloaded with chili flakes and condiments, making it too overpowering to enjoy after a few bites. The vegetables were undercooked, and the only redeeming element was the mushroom sauce—but even that couldn't save the dish. Service, Ambience & Pricing On the bright side, the service was quick, and the ambience was cozy, with a chill vibe and good music. However, the pricing felt a bit steep considering the inconsistent...
