The place is located in the south calcutta....the food here is very good both quality and quantity wise and these mainly attract the foodies again again here...I m here for the second time....but these time somethings got changed here...the time is real factor that they should look in...in the evening time when there was not that much crowd they took near about 25-30 minutes to deliver us the starter (drums of heaven)...ok after having the food when we ask for the the bill the bill should naturally be brought to us but it does'nt happen....we waited for 15 long minutes for the bill but it does'nt appeared to us..then we saw the delivery boy who served us the food and whome we ask for the bill is coming in, then we thought he bringing the bill with him but he went into the kitchen and nobody seems to be bothered about it...everybody laughing and gossiping aming them...then we ultimately went to the cash counter and ask for the bill and the person who is sitting in the cash seems to be neglecting us...then we again ask for the bill then he throws the bill towards the us and it shocked me...a waiter was standing at the cash desk he has gone through the whole matter and while looking at the cashiers behaviour he then took the bill up gave it to us...then after paying the bill...while returning the change the cashier again did the same thing..he again throw away the changes one by one towards us...and when we refuse to take the money in that way again that waiter took it and gave it to us...at the end of all I did'nt get it that why did they behaved like that and it is not only us there was another family and they behaved in the same way with them...this is very unproffessional behaviour from a renouned food joint...

If I could give negative stars, I would. What my uncle, my friend, and I experienced at this restaurant was nothing short of blatant discrimination and sheer arrogance. We went to pick up some biryani for takeaway, and my uncle—who went ahead of us—was stopped at the gate by the security guard. Why? Because he had a shaved head, was wearing sandals, and carried a sling bag. Apparently, this restaurant trains its staff to judge people by their appearance.

The guard physically pushed him away like he was some kind of lowlife, assuming he didn’t belong there. A paying customer, humiliated and shoved, for looking “different.” The moment my friend and I showed up, the tone changed, and they let him in—clearly showing it wasn’t about any rule or policy, just pure prejudice.

We still collected the food and called the manager, hoping for some accountability. Instead, we got four different half-baked excuses and a pathetic attempt at brushing the whole thing under the carpet. The security guard then had the audacity to deny everything outright. When confronted, he finally said, “I already apologized once, how many times do you want me to do it?”—as if a half-hearted apology erases public humiliation.

This restaurant clearly does not care about basic human decency, let alone customer service. Their staff behaves like they’re above accountability, and their management has absolutely no interest in addressing serious complaints. Golden gate is a family restaurant serving Chinese, Tandoor, North Indian and Bengali food. This is situated just next to the Jadavpur TB hospital. Here my review is going to be for different segments.. Position:- Located at a prime position as Jadavpur 8B busstand, Jadavpur University, KPC hospital is close to it. Ambiance and decor:- Nice red based decoration for emphasizing on the Chinese looks. Sitting arrangement is enough (As they have utilized 2 of the multi-storied building) and nice. I liked the concept of red napkin provided for every customer. However the music is a little bit dull. Food:- The above sections are for those and those only who prefer warm sitting arrangement with their companions. So, while talking about the food, their chinese starters are not bad, so is other chinese preparations. It's a lot OK-OK type. Biriyani which was served was quite blunt, though the quantity was good.
