I went with my friends to celebrate his birthday. A table of 4 was provided. The above floor was closed due to some renovation and we had to seat on the ground floor table. There are approx 7-8 tables on the ground floor and it became crowded as the evening went on. The food delicacies are quite well-priced and the quality was standard. They allowed cutting cakes on their tables and we did not made any mess. So, overall good hospitality. We ordered CARIBBEAN DRUMSTICKS (Rating 4/5), PRAWN IN HOT GARLIC SAUCE (Rating 4/5), BISTRO'S SPECIAL MEIFOON (3.8/5), MUTTON SHAHI BIRIYANI (3.5/5).
CARIBBEAN DRUMSTICKS - Tasty and succulent pieces of chicken drums with a tangy and spicy taste. Recommended to try once. Great non-veg option for starters.
PRAWN IN HOT GARLIC SAUCE - The taste was spicy and garlic-y, which I like. But the flavor was very overwhelming and dulled the original flavor of the prawns. So, the main ingredient was not properly tasty.
BISTRO'S SPECIAL MEIFOON - The rice noodles were a bit soggy and smelled odd and not fresh. Still it was ok-ish. Although I would not order it anymore from this restaurant. The rice noodles were sauted with veggies and egg and chicken. Also it comes with a half fried egg with runny yolk, which I love. The amount was sufficient for 2 adults.
MUTTON SHAHI BIRIYANI - Comes with 2 medium-sized mutton pieces, potato, one egg and rice. Good taste. Can serve one person + half.
I went in this restaurant after booking table for 4 through Dineout app. Called the restaurant after table booking confirmation, but they denied any reservations, although accepted the payment through dineout pay, thereby saving few bucks as a promotion...
Read moreIt surprises me how i did not find this beautiful place before. I always pass through the petrol pump area but never noticed. The restaurant is neat, clean and beautiful with amazing staffs. Especially the manager who himself served the guests even tho there were servers present. I had a long talk with him and didn’t even feel for once that we met for the first time. Food is delicious. The quantity is humungous for the price we are paying if compared with other rest. Coming to the taste and quality. We ordered:
Chicken tandoori: usually i find tandoori chicken to be dry unlike here the pieces were moist and tender with no redness inside. The masalas were nicely soaked up the meat. Yum.
Egg wrapped noodle: The potion was HUGE! My mom and i could finish it. We parcelled it and still it was enough for my dad and me for dinner. Tasted good as it should be. Had a lot of shrimps & chicken. Not at all dry. And the egg wrapping was a piece of art. Must try.
Mongolian chicken: Very saucy. Had tender stripes of chicken with crunch bell-peppers which i loved. Went well with the rice. And this too was huge.
Tutti frutti: its my mom’s favourite. It was nice and had a lot of fruits. But we both felt there was too much bananas which didn’t quite go well with our tastebuds also I personally didn’t like the banana-ish smell.
Arabian delight: this one again had a lot of fruits. Too much fruits. And too much bananas. I didn’t like this one.
Tho the desserts weren’t the best part for which I’ll give it a 4.5/5. The other dishes were brilliant. Will go frequently now as it close to my...
Read moreI was planning to visit this Restaurant for last couple of years, some how or the other the plan got cancelled or postponed. The place is very nearby to my place though. This time I made a sudden plan and happy to get succeeded. Coming to my review.....
Location - This place is slightly inside a narrow lane from the main road. Pretty tough for a new visiter. But not to worry folks, Google Map is always your best guide on road. Open it and you are almost halfway to " Calcutta Bristro".
Ambience - The restaurant is a 2 storey building. Not too big but sufficient for dining. Interior is pretty average. Not much lavish to look out for. Chairs are pretty cozy.
Service - Staffs are well trained and decently behaved. They have adequate knowledge about the menu they are serving. So if you are new to this place ... Just Don't Worry.
Food - Coming to the main segment.... At the very onset, I would like to tell you all that this is a very popular Chinese Restaurant ( although they serve mughlai dishes as well) in Jadavpur locality. We didn't order much today. Chicken Hot and sour soup. Thai Chicken Basil Fried Rice Spicy Hunan Prawns Soft Drinks Tooty Frooty ( MUST TRY )
The food was really good, specially the fried rice. Ending with the desert was a true bliss. Definitely gonna visit again and try out some of their other dishes too. Looking forward for the same.
REALLY SORRY COULDN'T UPLOAD ANY PICS, AS I WAS SUPER HUNGRY TO...
