I have tried various items from the menu. I am listing down my recommended items which are definitely a must have:-
DIMSUMS:- 🥟Turnip and Chive Chili Oil Dumpling (VEG) 🥟 Truffle, Water Chestnut and Sweet Pea Dumpling (VEG) 🥟 Lobster and Caviar Dumpling (NON-VEG) 🥟 Scallop Sui Mai Dumpling (NON-VEG) 🥟 Peking Duck Dumpling (NON-VEG) MUST TRY
MAINS:- 🍱 Pork and Broccoli in Oyester Sauce 🍱 Prawns served in Taro Nest 🍱 Cottage Cheese with Chili Oil 🍱 Spicy Aubergine, Okra and French Beans 🍱 Lamb and Broccoli in Oyester Sauce 🍱Edamame and Garlic Fried Rice 🍱 Vegetable Fried Rice with Sweet Corn and Asparagus.
All the above mentions dimsums are recommended but the Peking Duck Dumpling is a must try. The veg dimsums taste absolutely heavenly. The scallop sui mai tasted the best amongst the sea food variety. Coming to the mains, the preparation for pork and lamb are pretty much similar, the cottage cheese had a mixture of sweet and spicy taste and the prawn actually melted right in the mouth. All the mains paired amazing with the rice. The Edamame rice is a sticky rice FYI.
To end your meal my recommended desserts will be:- 🍮 Steamed Custard Buns

Read moreOn an August 2023 weekend, decided to dine at Royal China, attracted by its regal ambiance. However, the grandeur of the decor didn't quite match the food quality.
Our order included:
Spare Pork Ribs in Black Pepper Sauce: Although the meat was tender, it had an off-putting fishy smell. Unfortunately, the flavor didn't live up to expectations.
Seafood Dumpling with Ginger and Chili Oil: While the taste was good, the portion size seemed disproportionate to the price. Three tiny pieces felt insufficient.
Roast Pork Cheung Fun: The sweetness of the roasted pork was overwhelming, and the texture of the noodle didn't quite hit the mark for Cheung Fun.
Flaming Prawn in Superior Sauce: On a positive note, the prawns were sizable, fresh, and had a delightful taste. Definitely worth a try.
Crabmeat and Egg White Fried Rice: Another dish that stood out positively, recommended for its taste.
We also tried some drinks:
Gimlet: A refreshing gin-based cocktail that was quite enjoyable.
Negroni: For those who don't appreciate strong, bitter tastes in drinks, like myself, this might not be the best choice due to its intense bitterness.
Salted Fresh Lime Soda.
We opted to pay using Zomato after booking through Easy Diner, which led to a bit of confusion during payment. There wasn't clear information about the incompatibility of discounts from both platforms, resulting in some back and forth. Although the issue was resolved after we paid back the amount discounted, it left a sour taste due to the lack of upfront clarity.
Despite the mixed experience, I believe it might have been an off day. I'm open to giving Royal China another chance to try different dishes in the future. Stay tuned for an...
