🌿 Boho Elegance at @thecountryhousecafe Bhawanipur, Kolkata 🏡
Nestled in the heart of Bhawanipur, Kolkata, The Country House effortlessly combines a soothing Bohemian aesthetic with a touch of European charm, creating the perfect ambiance for a delightful brunch experience. Here's a detailed review of our visit:
👍 What We Liked: Barbecue Chicken Pizza: The smoky flavors and tender chicken on a perfectly crisp crust were an absolute delight. A must-try for pizza enthusiasts!
Exotic Veggie Pizza: For the vegetarian palate, the Exotic Veggie Pizza was a winner. Fresh, colorful veggies and a delectable blend of cheeses made every bite heavenly.
Veg Lasagna: The layers of pasta, rich sauce, and gooey cheese in the Veg Lasagna were pure comfort food. It satisfied our craving for a hearty, flavorful dish.
Chocochip Pancakes: The Chocochip Pancakes were a sweet ending to our brunch. Fluffy, warm, and oozing with chocolate, they were a treat for anyone with a sweet tooth.
👎 What We Didn't Like: Chicken Tender Strips: Unfortunately, the Chicken Tender Strips didn't meet our expectations. They were a bit dry and lacked the flavorful punch we anticipated.
🍽️ Apart from the food, the cafe's interior was a visual delight. The Boho decor, with its mix of earthy tones and vintage elements, created a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It's a perfect spot for Instagram-worthy photos!
☕ The Country House also offers a variety of beverages to complement your meal, including aromatic coffees and refreshing teas.
In conclusion, The Country House is a delightful brunch spot in Kolkata's Bhawanipur neighborhood, offering a blend of Boho aesthetics and European flavors. While some dishes exceeded expectations, others fell short. Nevertheless, the ambiance and overall experience make it worth a visit for those seeking a relaxing and visually pleasing...
Read moreIt's a European styled cute cafe located in the heart of the city. We went there for soshti lunch in 2023 Durga Puja. The place was way more crowded than we expected it could be! Had to wait for approx 30 mins to get a table. The owner was there himself and made sure to meet all the customers expectations, also he helped us to get our table even in that busy hour! All other staff were very helpful and cordial, even though it was Durga Puja time and there was a rush to serve all the customers still they helped us to choose from the menu! The seating area is in the first floor, not so spacious but cozy and comfortable. The hanging lamps and greenery in the white background added extra texture. The interior decoration is minimalist but in a very picturesque way that suits the vibe perfectly! Now coming to the food, Each and every dish from appetizers to dessert was just " yumm " ! We ordered, Chef's special chicken tender- 315/- for 5 pieces. ( Tasted good and worth trying) Guilty American pizza-385/-( non veg, it was just perfect for our taste buds!) Chef's special Peri peri rubbed grilled chicken-435/- for 2 pieces served with assorted veggies and mashed potato ( Tasted SO GOOD) • Mango mojito-209/- • Watermelon basil cooler-229/- • Ginger rocksalt cooler-189/- ( All 3 were Summer perfect coolers and equally refreshing!) Kitkat shake-229/- ( tasted so good but was so heavy, couldn't finish it but a Perfect choice for sweet tooth!) Monte carlo (Dessert)-275/-( LOVED IT! Read moreWe had a table booking for two so obviously as we went there we showed our confirmed booking and asked to be seated at a table for two but we were made to sit just infront of the stairs. The restaunt is a sweet little restaunt with a nice decor but due to the place where we were seated by the staff we saw only a huge pillar. We saw the whole restaurant inside was empty at least the table for two was empty and it was empty till we left but we still weren't allowed to sit there even after having a reservation.
As we sat just in front of the stairs there was constant movement there by the staff which is obvious and thus was an intrution to our time at the restaurant hence a seat inside would have been appreciated.
There were two waiters who were managing all the tables and I must say both of them are quite creepy. They stood just beside our table the whole time. Both of them with rolled up eyes starred right at me and my friend the whole time, that was creepy and uncomfortable.
Lastly coming to the food, we liked the food. The nachos were just amazing, it's a must try. The sizzler was just perfect and the virgin mojito too was great. However, the burger could have been better, it tasted a little too sour and the bun was a little tough but the fires were nicly salted and crisp, the best fries I ever had.
The decor and food is great. But the bad rating is only for the creepy waiters and for the fact that we were not allowed to sit at a table we wanted that was just empty all the while. I don't know if these happen usually but for us these factors became a hindrance for us having a...
