SANTA COMES WITH FANTASTIC FOOD

Kolkata is a big city full of foodies. There is a phrase in Bengali “bangalir baro mashe tero parbon” ; which means Bengalees have 13 festivals in just 12 months and the most important fact is all the festivals are related to food. Food completes the essence of any occasion and when life is in a mess food can only save us. Today we are not very fond of homemade food because we have got bored of the same fooding habit and normal noodles, biriyani don’t always work. That’s why Santa’s Fantasea (SF) is there on the stage. The history of Bengal carries a lot of things with it including food habits and this restaurant has exactly thought about their environmental and their fooding process.

The most beautiful thing about Santa’s Fantasea is the décor. It’s fantastic and amazing. Their serving process is also different from other restaurants because they serve water in wooden pots. Anyone who is very foppish would just love the décor of the place undoubtedly, although a normal person can fall in love with this place after visiting once. Well, ambience is almost similar to the decoration but it just includes one more thing that is the staff behaviour and discipline which they have managed beautifully. The staffs are very well-mannered and well-dressed. The behaviour of them towards the customers is also impressive. Many of the restaurants have a problem with time but Santa’s Fantasea serves everyone on time without any fail. Soft music makes the mood to eat some delicious food and the food of the eyes is everywhere in the whole restaurant. Friends’ hangout, date with girlfriend/boyfriend, official works, small business meetings can be done at this place. According to the food lovers they love to come here for its reasonable price. It’s at about 700/800 for two persons. If you connect the price and the food quality you can never complain against it. Perfect for casual dining and good moments with a very low price like my favourite Banse Pora Chicken costs only 320 rupees and it tastes just amazing. This is just an example so if anyone wants to chill at some cozy, small place with delicious food , he/she should be suggested about the Santa’s Fantasea. Food can bring anyone’s mood back and if the food is good fun is at another level. The quality of food here is just awesome. They have this best menu where sea-food gets the priority. The names of the dishes are as beautiful as the taste. They have crab momo, Banse Pora mutton/chicken, Soru chakli, butter garlic fish; everything tastes so good that anyone would want to come here again and again. There is something about food like when the heart touches the dish, it becomes more tasty so we should definitely give the credits to the amazing chefs over there who have been serving for Santa’s Fantasea for so long. Now we come to the main point which is about the speciality of this place. The speciality of the restaurants is even special to everyone. The most exceptional food is available here. Different tribal food from different states just amaze the customers. There are food from Odisha, Mizoram, Nagalnd, Mangalore, Meghalaya, Andhra Pradesh and many other places which shows the range of the menu. There are two dishes in dessert one is Tilhou Kheer and another is Chemmen Kheer, they are just awesome. Then comes the sea-food cuisine; fish, octopus, squid, prawn, tuna, mackerel, crab and King Fish. I think this is the best ever menu and variety any restaurant could ever have. Don’t even think that they cheat you or they flaunt with the menu, they really have everything with an excellent taste and garnishing.

So, relatives, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends ….don’t think much just chill out with your own time and spend it with good food which is easily available at Santa’s Fantasea, Golpark and it’s also available for home delivery by the food apps. Therefore, this is a must visit for...

Excellent restaurant within budget, one of the best in tribal cuisine. I am updating my review from 3 stars to 5 stars for my recent visit after 1 year.

Service:

Service is the most important aspect of dining, at least for me. Santas Fantasea has improved considerably since last year (this was the reason I gave 3 stars). Earlier the wait time was too long but now we received all three starters within 5 minutes, same with the main course. The staff is very courteous and friendly, improvement here too.

Starters: Oriental Star Octopus: Soft, not too spicy. Very good in taste. Improvement here once again as last time, the octopus meat was rubbery.

Smoked chilli fish: Soft and juicy. The sauce is moderately spicy. Bhetki would have been better.

Teriyaki chicken: Best of the three. Tender and juicy with smokey flavour. Melts in the mouth. Too good.

Main course: Jadoh Rice: If you want to taste something different from normal fried rice recipes, then go for it, you will not be dissatisfied. A little bit spicy, bit of smokey, mixed with minced mutton. Quantity is more than enough for two.

Bansh pora mutton: Again a restaurant special item, everyone talks about it. I would have liked a bit softer pieces of mutton and a little less masalas. The flavour of mutton is masked when you put more masalas.

Patra pora: Quite a revelation. Totally unexpected. It was like mutton paturi. Smokey mustard on mutton. Too good, loved it.

Dessert: Here comes the best part. It totally compensates for the little bit of displeasure I mentioned earlier.

Tihou kheer(onion) Chameen kheer(prawn)

I was a bit sceptical, but thoroughly enjoyed both the dishes. Try both and take a challenge to find out the correct names of the two. Doesn't feel like eating onion and prawn at all. You will get a slight hint as an after taste. Mind blowing innovation.

Footnote: Me and my friends enjoyed the dining a lot, some new experience with fusion food. Thanks for the gift. We really appreciate...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Santas Fantasea, and it was an unforgettable experience. The restaurant's unique menu offers a delightful fusion of flavors, and I had the opportunity to savor some of their specialty dishes. Here's a review of my culinary adventure:

Bansh Pora Chicken: This dish was a true revelation. The Bansh Pora Chicken was succulent and bursting with flavors. The chicken was perfectly marinated and roasted to perfection, infusing it with a smoky aroma that was simply irresistible. The seasoning was on point, striking a harmonious balance between spices. It's a must-try for anyone who enjoys bold, smoky flavors.

Bansh Pora Mutton: The Bansh Pora Mutton was another hit. The mutton was incredibly tender, and the Bansh Pora cooking technique once again shone through. The dish was rich, with a deep, earthy flavor that lingers on your taste buds. It's a testament to the chef's skill in preserving the essence of this culinary tradition.

Bamboo Chicken Biryani: The Bamboo Chicken Biryani was the highlight of the meal. Served in a bamboo shoot, it was not only visually appealing but also a treat for the palate. The biryani was fragrant and bursting with aromatic spices, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The bamboo infuses the dish with a unique, woody flavor that adds an extra layer of complexity to the biryani. It's an experience that every biryani enthusiast should try.

In addition to the exceptional food, the restaurant's ambiance was cozy and inviting. The staff was attentive and friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, catering to diverse tastes and preferences.

Santas Fantasea is a gem in the world of culinary exploration. The Bansh Pora Chicken, Bansh Pora Mutton, and Bamboo Chicken Biryani are all highly recommended. I left with a contented palate and a desire to return for another...

The city of joy is a melting pot when we talk about the variety of food options one has. Santa Fantasea is one such place that should be on your bucket list. I recently visited their Golpark outlet on a fine afternoon. As soon as I entered the place, I was welcomed by the staff. Such small gestures always go a long way. The ambience of the place was relatively nice, with a decent number of tables alongside beautiful wall décor. When it came to their food, I was eager to try some of the tribal dishes on their menu.I decided to order veg wild red rice, Kukhura ko masu, Bansa pora mutton and Soru chakli. All of the dishes were based on the tribal food that is commonly eaten in Northeast India. The veg wild red rice were fabulous. I had never tried red rice prior to this place, so it was a very different experience for me. This version of fried rice was lighter and much tastier than the usual rice which we get at most of the outlets. I paired the same with their rich Kukhura ko masu gravy, which was prepared using boneless chicken pieces, tamarind, coconut extract, and some herbs. The gravy was rich and hearty. Do try it out. Next up, I tried out their Bansa pora mutton with Soru Chakli. The mutton was first marinated for 72 hours and then stuffed with whole bamboo and cooked in a tandoor. The flavours were quite intense and the mutton was well prepared. Bite it up with a soft soru chakli made using rice, maida, egg and you are good to go. All in all, the place really lived up to its hype and impressed me with its food. Looking forward to visit them super soon.

Located in a quiet neighborhood at Golpark..this restaurant is for those people who wants to explore and experience new kinds of food. The interior of the place is decorated with tribal motifs in one room and fishes drawn all over the wall in another room. The environment is nice and cheerful alongwith friendly staff. Santa's Fantasea specialises in TRIBAL CUISINE and SEAFOOD CUISINE (prawns, fish and squids). I tried the following tribal dishes : 1) BANSA PORA CHICKEN - Marinated chicken stuffed in bamboo and cooked in tandoor. They serve steaming hot bamboo with soft, juicy chicken inside cooked in flavourful spices. ✅ Taste : 4/5 2) SORU CHAKLI - These are tribal breads. They are made from dust of rice, maida and egg. They are white in colour and soft to eat. Goes well with Bansa pora chicken. ✅ Taste : 4/5 3) TILHOU KHEER : This is a tribal dessert. TILHOU meaning Onion. The kheer is made from fine onion slices but not for one moment will you understand that while eating. The dish is very sweet with no smell of raw onion. I highly recommend this dish. Just trust me and try it once! ✅Taste : 5/5 Follow me on instagram @petuk_juin
