I have been visiting Vango at Accropolis Mall since post Covid days. It was a delight and I have been visiting frequently with my family, friends, associates but to me it isn't a delight anymore.
Single spoons are provided and they are mostly plastic or some other light material and cannot be comfortably had when you are cutting idli or wada. Must have mentioned this several times. Mandira then used to give Steel Spoons on request and she was really good. Got to know us since we were regular.
Size of idli / wada has reduced and it isn't tasty at all. Coffee isn't up to the mark.
Chutney is not provided if you order wada / idli dipped in sambar. Though it was immediately given by Arghya on asking. Why is this ? Idli / Dosa / Wada / Utthapam comes with sambar and chutni (coconut) invariably. Extra sambar / chutni is given if asked for !
Sambar I was given had no veggies, just chopped raw onions and loads of it ?!
Would look forward to a better feel next time including the taste and aroma of the food served.
I am sure the business too will grow hugely as Accropolis Mall is a happening place in Kolkata with a good ambience and facilities for people from the...
Read moreThe food is decent (+4 stars), but the staff is not (-3 stars) - Delighting the customer doesn't seem to be the priority here. Very weird behaviour. When I asked for an extra paper plate I was told that they cannot be spared as "each plate has to be accounted for". So does this mean they reuse the paper plates if one falls to the ground while serving? Another weird experience when I ordered for a plate of Podi Idly, it came without Sambar. When I enquired the staff told me in an eye-rolling patronizing manner that apparently this version of idly is "never served with Sambar in any authentic eatery." I think the management should take note that customers come to these places to enjoy a meal and not to be schooled. Please ask your staff to consider simple requests (unless of course a bowl of Sambar is highly lucrative exchange...
Read moreVisited 2nd last week of June and claimed an offer from BMS. It was Buy 1 dosa and a filter coffee and get another dosa free.
We got the Signature and Butter Masala Dosa.
The Signature(6/10): The coat was soggy when we brought it to the table from the counter. It was hot bit soggy. What's special about this is, it has loads of Gun powder(Podi) which is nowhere near to the actual tasty podi. Taste wise it was average.
Butter Masala Dosa(8/10) It was still a better Dosa than the Signature. It was a bit more crunchy than the other. Taste wise it was like any other masala dosa. Ask for the potato separate else the dosa gets soggy faster.
Filter Coffee(7/10): Just decent. You will need to add 1.5 to 2 packs of sugar to this for a sufficient taste, unless you are in the habit of the...
