Lonavala Restaurant and Bar is an Old, Well Established Restaurant and Bar which is the Multi Cuisine Restaurant of Hotel Lonavala and is located on the 1st Floor of this Hotel. It is located on the Main Old Mumbai-Pune Highway itself in a very prominent location which is very near the ST Stand, Market and Lonavala Railway Station as well. This Restaurant has always been Very Famous for all their Non Vegetarian Tandoori Dishes, but even their Seafood, Chinese and all other items are very good as well. It is a Large, Air-conditioned and Tastefully Designed Restaurant with a separate Family Dining Area on one side and Clean Washrooms too. They now even have an Exclusive Pure Vegetarian Restaurant on the Ground Floor, which is also very good. We have eaten here before as well and have always found their Food to be Fresh, Well Prepared & Tasty, their Service to be Prompt and their Prices to be Reasonable as well. There is place to park a few Cars in front of the Hotel and they also have a Valet to assist you in Parking, so this is really nice. Otherwise, it would be very difficult to find proper parking in this very busy main area of Lonavala. Truly a Lovely Place to have a Drink and/or Enjoy a Delicious Meal when in Lonavala and Well...
Read moreWell.. To be honest me and family did not like the food one bit!! We stayed at Indralok Inn in Lonavala and the food served here thru room service is from Lonavala Restaurant.. We ordered a cream of chicken soup, a paneer satay and a chicken tikka and fruit salad. The soup was right of the can (readymade soup) and nothing much to write home about with just precooked chicken pieces put in it, the paneer satay was pathetic looked like bland pieces of paneer dipped in a unpalatable batter and fried, the chicken Tikka was raw... Which meant that already pre-boiled pieces of chicken breast was coated in tandoori masala and that too the masala tasted raw... So when you took a bite you could taste the half cooked masala and then the bland chicken... The fruit salad was just something you'd get form the road side... (maybe even better on the road side) with only pieces of apple, papaya, pineapple, two cherries (not the real ones) (though seasonal fruits like custard apple, watermelon, pears, banana, grapes etc... Could have been added. Over all I'd give it only a 2 out of then br cause the food just quelled our hunger and...

We stayed in Hotel Casa Fedora and this restaurant was the option provided to us. We preferred to have Jain food and when I called the restaurant they told they cannot make Jain food for us. But we had to somehow eat and there were no other proper restaurants nearby. It was quite late to travel far away for another restaurant.
They told they will be able to make Paneer Bhurji without Onion, Garlic and Mushrooms. We ordered it along with Curd Rice. The taste was only Okay. Not very great. Quantity was also "Okay" as the taste was not great we couldn't even complete this quantity itself. Curd rice was very dry but taste was little bit okay. Maybe if we had it fresh it would have been better. I'm not sure.
Another annoying thing was the price of these two items. It is definitely not worth this price.
Paneer Bhurji was 275 Rs and Curd Rice was 225 Rs each.
I will not completely blame the hotel but I would say that it is not a good choice for Jain options. At least it satisfied our hunger...
