Visited: Dinner on our way back from Pune to Mumbai Location: Rama Krishna Hotel and Restaurant, Lonavla (just beside the main road in a busy, crowded area) 1. Ambience & Decor: • Hotel Ambience: The ambience is superb, offering a comfortable and welcoming setting. • Cleanliness: The toilet and washroom hygiene is top-notch, making a strong positive impression. • AC Functionality: Air conditioning works really well, ensuring a pleasant dining environment. 2. Food Quality: • Highlights: The food is top quality. We particularly enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Biriyani, which was amazingly cooked with fresh, properly prepared chicken. • Overall Taste: Every dish was flavorful and well-executed, contributing to an ultimate dining experience. 3. Service: • Staff: The server and waiter were both decent and friendly, which added to our positive experience. • Customer Handling: Even when we had a slight delay due to one friend needing to use the restroom, the staff remained calm and accommodating. 4. Parking & Accessibility: • Parking: Despite the location being in a busy, traffic-heavy area, the restaurant made space for us to park our three bikes easily. • Accessibility: Its position beside the main road makes it a convenient stop, even in a crowded area. 5. Pricing: • Bill Amount: Our total bill came to around ₹2,000+, which we felt was reasonable given the quality of food, service, and overall ambience. 6. Overall Experience: • Summary: Our dinner at Rama Krishna Hotel and Restaurant was delightful. The combination of a superb ambience, high-quality food (especially the Chicken Tikka Biriyani), friendly service, and hassle-free parking made the experience truly memorable. • Repeat Visit: We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and will definitely come again.

A little expensive, but awesome food. Updating my review after a second visit. While the food quality remains excellent, I feel compelled to highlight a serious issue that cannot be ignored. The restaurant is blatantly overcharging for mineral water, and this behaviour feels nothing short of a scam. Here’s the issue: the mineral water bottle they served has a clearly printed MRP of ₹20. However, as shown in the attached bill, the restaurant charges ₹30 for the same bottle, plus an additional 5% GST on top of that! This is unacceptable and, more importantly, illegal. The MRP already includes GST, and overcharging beyond the MRP is a direct violation of consumer rights. It's disheartening to see a restaurant that already charges premium prices resorting to such unethical practices. This reflects sheer greed and a lack of respect for customers who are willing to pay a premium for quality food and service. To the management: Please address this issue immediately and rectify your billing practices. Overcharging customers may seem trivial to you, but it erodes trust and tarnishes your reputation. Have the decency to follow the law and treat your customers fairly. I hope this review helps others make informed decisions and encourages the restaurant to improve its practices.

Ramkrishna Restaurant on Lonavala’s main road is a gem for anyone who appreciates authentic South Indian cuisine. As a regular visitor, I can vouch for the consistently delicious and flavorful dishes, especially their dosas and idlis, which are always served fresh and hot. The sambar and chutney are exceptional, perfectly complementing the main dishes. I visit mainly for breakfast, and it has never disappointed. One of the standout features of Ramkrishna Restaurant is its reserved parking area, which is a rare and valuable convenience in the busy area of Lonavala. This makes it an ideal stop for travelers and locals alike, ensuring a hassle-free dining experience. The restaurant also maintains a high standard of cleanliness, with spotless toilets available for both gents and ladies. This attention to hygiene adds to the overall pleasant dining experience. The staff are courteous and attentive, further enhancing the visit. In summary, Ramkrishna Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone in Lonavala. Whether you are a fan of South Indian food or just looking for a clean, convenient place to eat, this restaurant ticks all the boxes. Highly recommended!

A Vegetarian's Delight: Hotel Rama Krishna Lonavala Hits the Mark! As a vegetarian, finding good food while traveling can often be a bit of a gamble. So, when my family and I planned a quick getaway to Lonavala, I braced myself for the usual limited options and uninspired dishes. However, Hotel Rama Krishna Lonavala truly exceeded my expectations, earning a solid four-star rating from this veggie enthusiast! From the moment we stepped into the hotel, the friendly staff made us feel welcome. The check-in process was smooth, and our room was clean, comfortable, and offered a pleasant view of the surroundings. While not opulent, it had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. But let's be honest, for me, the true test of any hotel lies in its culinary offerings, especially when dietary preferences come into play. And Hotel Rama Krishna delivered! The in-house restaurant was a revelation. Their menu boasted a surprisingly extensive array of vegetarian dishes, far beyond the standard paneer curries and dal. We started with the crispy corn, which was perfectly seasoned and not at all greasy – a great start. For our mains, we sampled the vegetable kolhapuri, a spicy and flavorful curry that truly packed a punch, and the dal makhani, which was rich, creamy, and utterly satisfying. Each dish felt fresh and authentically prepared, a testament to the kitchen's dedication. What truly impressed me was the sheer variety. They had South Indian options like dosas and idlis for breakfast, which were light and fluffy, and North Indian staples like a variety of rotis and naans. Even the simple vegetable pulao was fragrant and delicious. I never once felt like I was settling for a "vegetarian option"; instead, I felt like I was exploring a vibrant and diverse vegetarian menu. The staff were also incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable about the ingredients, which put my mind at ease regarding any hidden non-vegetarian elements (a common concern for vegetarians dining out). The breakfast buffet, in particular, was a highlight. It featured a wide selection of vegetarian items, from fresh fruits and pastries to poha, upma, and even live counter for dosas. Everything was piping hot and replenished regularly, ensuring a fresh and enjoyable start to each day. It was a joy to be able to fill my plate without having to scrutinize every dish for meat or fish. While the food was undoubtedly the star, the overall experience at Hotel Rama Krishna was very positive. The location is convenient, close enough to the main attractions but still offering a peaceful retreat. The service was consistently attentive without being overbearing, and the common areas were well-maintained. My only minor quibble, preventing a full five stars, would be the decor, which felt a little dated in some areas. A bit of a modern refresh could elevate the ambiance even further. However, this is a very minor point when weighed against the fantastic vegetarian food and excellent service. For any vegetarian traveler heading to Lonavala, Hotel Rama Krishna is an absolute must-stay. You won't be disappointed by the culinary delights awaiting you. I left feeling well-fed, happy, and already planning my next vegetarian culinary adventure at this...

If I’d have served a hot cup of Bournvita to anyone the way Rama Krishna did to us, they’d have either flipped out (silently or vocally) at my insouciance or upended that entire cup on my head in disgust. (A person like Gordon Ramsay would have perhaps hurled off the crockery then and there and smashed it into smithereens.) The chocolate powder wasn’t mixed at all, the milk was spilling from the sides, and there was no attempt made to run a clean cloth over the cup and saucer. May I add that the milk didn’t taste like milk at all? Obviously, I pushed the entire affair away.

The Bournvita was just the climax to an otherwise clumsy and half-hearted dinner service. For starters, there was zero seasoning in the food. Yep, it’s hard to think of ANY item of food we ordered—the veg kurma, the dal fry, the paneer pulao—that actually HAD salt in it. If they’d run out of it, they could have just borrowed the NaCl from any table, including ours; funnily, the shaker had plenty of it. Secondly, the finger bowls were Tundra-cold, and, worse, the waitperson assigned to us who could have expended his energy in providing a better service than in making faces at us, especially at my 60-year-old mother. All she asked was for the Tundra-cold finger bowl to be replaced with a lukewarm, if not hot, option, and the guy’s expression in reaction could have put Robert Downey Jr.’s eye-roll to shame. The only redeeming feature was the tandoori roti, which was thankfully well cooked and not charred at the bottom, but trust me, there are better rotis out there in the world—you only have to stop at a dhaba for proof. Speaking of dhabas, it took us a trip to Kinara Village the next day and a lavish, brilliantly executed lunch there, with superb service to boot, to wipe out that disastrous memory that had almost brought my mom to tears back in the hotel room.

I know I’m never returning to this place, ever. And if anyone recommends it in “Lonavala’s 10 best restaurants” or some other list, seriously question their credibility. The place is just not worth the hype. Even the locals we met agreed. Maybe someone should send the team of Kitchen Nightmares here. It would make for a great and entertaining, if not delicious, episode. Sorry, Rama Krishna, but #PunFullyIntended, you’re...
