Barista — Restaurant in Mumbai

Good location, decor, ample seating but untrained staff take away from the experience. I was there a few days ago for evening coffee. The place is well decorated with ample indoor and outdoor seating. Getting to the experience however- all of the staff there seemed not only inefficient but also ill mannered. I was the only one ordering while I was there. When I asked for an iced latte, they tried to trick me into getting a flavoured one, which I said NO to. Then they ask for your phone number and name to place an order which is annoying enough, because you know that you will get spammed afterwards. After clearly mentioning my number twice (the music was not loud) the cashier girl made a face and told me, 'maam your number is invalid.' It turned out that she wasn't hearing me properly. Then another one of the staff kept pushing me to download their app. I told them I'm just visiting Mumbai one off and I have no use for the app. It should have ended there, right? No the staff was super persistent that I should download it for the sake of my friends (????) and I had to be much firmer and say no. My watered down ice latte was unsweetened which is fine. I went to the counter and asked for 'a couple of sachets of sugar'. I was handed a single sachet in my hand like there is a sugar rationing. Later on when I ordered a snack, I asked that it be sliced so I can share it with my friend. Two or four slices would have been ideal but of course they did three. I go to cafes often for the coffee and ambience both. And the vibe of this cafe is good but the staff made sure to spoil every bit of the experience and I would not be returning or...

Yesterday I visited Barista to meet a friend, it was my suggestion to meet there because I liked the place been there twice earlier. But yesterday I had a two horrible experiences

I was there at 8.45 pm there was only one other table occupied and all tables inside and out were vacant... Once we got the order maybe in 10 mins we were chatting till then even the last people had left and we were only customers at around 9.15 pm... While we were mid way of our drink the fellow who made the frappe comes and tells should I clear the table... How idiotic is that... Your customer is having the food and in between you will clear the table... It was not rush hours and if it was then customers have sense to vacant quickly but just imagine in 30 mins this fellow told us to leave indirectly... SO BARISTA IF YOU WANT YOU CAFE EMPTY SO BE IT.. i did tell him I will inform u when m done and left at 9.45... n yeah the place was still empty. But it was my last time in this outlet. Teach your staff some mannerism.

second with the drink Vanilla Frappe which tasted like cold coffee and no taste of vanilla, on asking the waiter kept saying it taste like that only but then I said take extra charge and add some vanilla, they did add some essence but should have added vanilla icecream to make it better... One of the worst drinks I had... Could have just had coffee. But this was not something that important but the behaviour...

Putting up this review for those who want to have a good time with their loved one by relaxing and winding down, you won't get that here. We visited this cafe thinking it's cozy looking pretty chill from the outside and when we went in to order through Swiggy Dineout they didn't allow us to place an order until the booking time was there. They said its a "pay first" policy here? Which cafe has a pay first policy? Every cafe I've been to let's the guest relax and have a cup of coffee in peace and then pay when you're done and about to leave, that's hospitality. Barista, especially this outlet lacked hospitality. The manager of this outlet was rude who made us wait 45 mins just so we could order 2 coffees while he let one of his - seemed like - regular customer to order and pay after he was done. What?!

Suggesting anyone who's looking to visit this cafe to not visit, unless you want to embarrass yourself in front of your lady. There are much better options right around this area like coffee by di bella, TWC,...
