I had a very disappointing experience at Café Breve Bandra today. I visited with two friends around 2:40 PM and decided to sit outdoors since the indoor tables were occupied. We were informed by the waiter that it would take at least 30 minutes to get our food due to inventory counting, and we were okay with that. However, things quickly went downhill from there.

Firstly, we were told that certain items, including croissant sandwiches and smoothie bowls, were unavailable. One of the outdoor air conditioners was leaking, so we decided to move indoors when a table became available. The indoor area wasn’t any better, as it was not clean.

We had high expectations as we had discovered this café through Instagram, but it definitely didn’t live up to the hype. We ordered the following:

Burrito Bowl (475 INR): Extremely disappointing in terms of portion size. It was tiny for a main dish and not at all worth the price. The rice and beans were scarce, and there was more salad than anything else, which didn’t look appetizing. Creamy Pesto Spaghetti (450 INR): The sauce was good, but the spaghetti itself was broken and the portion size could be better for the price. Fiery Chicken Sandwich (430 INR): The sandwich was average and not worth the price at all. San Sebastian Classic Cheesecake with Dark Chocolate Sauce (550 INR): The cheesecake was delicious, but I still don’t think it was worth the steep price. To top it off, with the inventory counting going on, they could have chosen to keep the café closed rather than offer such a disappointing experience. The overall cleanliness of the place was also lacking.

To our disbelief, the response we received was, "Haan, toh ban raha hai na khana" (Yes, the food is being prepared, can't you see?). Despite our polite inquiry, the tone and attitude of the waiter were dismissive and condescending.After waiting for an hour, we were informed that our food would be ready in just "5 more minutes." This statement was particularly baffling considering the significant delay we had already experienced. The lack of transparency and communication regarding the delay further added to our frustration.Regrettably, due to the excessive wait and the unhelpful response from the waiter, we were left with no choice but to cancel our order and leave the restaurant. This decision was not taken lightly, as we had looked forward to enjoying a delicious breakfast at your establishment. The experience left us deeply disappointed, not only because of the prolonged delay but also due to the lack of professionalism displayed by the staff. A basic expectation when dining out is timely service and respectful communication, both of which were sorely lacking during our visit.
