Frankly I was not aware of the place and went casually to check it out basis a recommendation of a friend of mine who stays in Bandra. I landed around 830 PM on a Sunday evening thus managed to find a place to park my vehicle on the road. Thus a word of caution in case you plan to visit on a busy time as you will struggle for parking. I didn’t find any valet either
The place was lit up and well decorated and thus will force you to take some selfies on entry. The guard reluctantly checked my temperature as I offered my wrist and nonchalantly let others go past who didn’t care, The sanitiser at the metal detector gate was empty and there were nobody to refill it. As I entered through the gate I found it quite catchy with a display like bakeries and a giant screen playing music videos. It took me some time to understand the process of ordering. Its a self service restaurant where you need to place the order first at the display counter. The staff at the counter will then issue you a coupon which you need to take and pay at the cash counter. Quite time consuming and inconvenient is what I felt but I am sure they have their own reason for it. Post paying a bill is issued to you which you need to carry to the pick up counter. The gentleman who was handing over the food was not even wearing a gloves, though the person who was heating the food and passing on to him was wearing one.
We ordered a chicken steak, a cheesecake and a bread pudding. The steak was made in the morning and was just heated while handing it over to me. Thus the French fries were shallow and did not have any crispiness to it. Once you get your food you are required to carry it to your table of your choice. You can either sit and eat in front of the counter or walk up to the huge building this cafe is located, As I climbed up till the top floor I was astonished with the way its been decorated. You feel you are in some European restaurant basis the decoration. Lot of abstract decoration and colour makes it a hunting ground for the Instagram generation. There are open air place to smoke too and enough place for a couple to find a cozy place.
The quality of food was just above average and not something which will inspire me to come back. However its like a tourist place where you can bring your friends when they visit Mumbai. After 8 PM they give you 25% discount which you can use in case you are hard pressed on your purse. Nevertheless, the pricing is above average too and can be afforded to people who intend to...

When hunger pangs are larger than the notes in your wallet, eye for soaking into Bandra's finest ready to be on auto-pilot then Candies is where you should be!
Famed for baking its own bread, Candies is a Pereira family-run restaurant specialising in Croissants, Baguettes, French Loaves, Bun Rolls, Sliced Bread in Brown, White and Multi-Grain varieties. They offer 300 different food items like Sandwiches (Chicken Sandwich is their oldest item which is still available), Rolls & Burgers & Wraps (Shawarma Wrap, Chicken New York Hot Dog, Veg. Burger), Meals (Chicken Spaghetti, Veg. Biryani, Goa Fish Curry Rice), Asian (Crab Sushi, Burmese Khow Suey, Veg Mongolian & Fried Rice), Tandoori (BBQ Chicken Tikka, Afghani Wings, Paneer Tikka), Indian (Butter Chicken), Salads, Desserts and of course- Breads :)
Their cakes such as Pokemon, Minions, Angry Birds, Red Velvet Cupcake, Apple Cake can make you go- very very belicious!
What I Ordered: Single Serve All-In-Salad (210 INR): I tanked my plate with Greek Cucumber (not sure if olive oil was in it), Waldorf (grapes were missing), Russian (rightly had parboiled veggies rather than raw ones :D), Bean Sprout (quite light), Thai Papaya (nuts and basil give a nice citrusy touch), Potato (just okay but gives a creamy texture), Tuna (not my thing as had too much garlic), Chicken Hawaiian (couldn't find almonds, grapes, nuts) Salads. Cole Slaw and Egg Supreme Salads were over so couldn't taste them. Remember, it is only single serve so you should fill your plate shamelessly on the first go!
I washed my salad plate down with Chocolate Milkshake (120 INR) and Double Chocolate Mousse (120 INR). Both of them can make a choco-addict cream his/her/their knickers as it were really good. Lemon Ice Tea (100 INR) was good though had too much sugar.
The ambiance takes you to Goa with its vintage Portuguese feel. The winding steps, blue walls, Turkish tiles can best be soaked solo, date or even family (trust me, it's family-friendly)!
It's a must-go for an afternoon indulgence, pre-dinner nom-noming or just getting a taste of...
Read moreThis is one such Restaurant for Good Breakfast, if you were to find and visit a !Breakfast restaurant in Bandra at the Hill Road Area. The ambience of this Restaurant is like a european breakfast hotel and this is situated in a gap or verandah of a residential cum commercial building with two to three floor. Ground floor is AC. Food is only for those who like European or American type Breakfast. The Breakfast is usually made of buns, sandwiches, breads of different styles, eggs and all that is good for English and foreigners to digest including some Indian English.
Surprisingly, they have 3 counters for the Customers to run here and there with self service as a model of eating your own stuff. First counter you will have to go and order and get a slip, then you go to an unnecessary 2nd counter, where payment will be collected and again a paper slip will be given, where you pay and then you have to go to the which to the 3rd counter, who will takes her own sewer time to get you your ordered breakfast after a good wait of not less than 20 minutes or even more. I just Could not understand this type of serving from three different counters: Big timepass. Also the counter staff behave as if they are a strict “convent school teachers” with no smiling attitude which they show to the customer as of the customers are their students and not customers.
After you get your good ordered breakfast, getting a sitting tables is not any issue here, because here there are many tables on all floors. You can grab one table and start eating your very very English -Euro - American Breakfast.. Good Stuff but without salt. Also no salt and paper bottles at any of tables almost forces you to eat a good hygienic breakfast with all Indo-English taste.
Good to visit once. It needs more improvement on smiling faces who serve at counters 2ndly taste needs improvement at a large level. & 3rdly, last but not the least, tables should have salt and paper bottles along with HandPapers arranged...
