A Slice of Italy in Bandra
Gustoso in Bandra is one of those rare restaurants that gets everything right—from the food and ambience to the service and overall experience. If you’re a fan of authentic Italian cuisine and elegant yet relaxed dining, Gustoso delivers in spades. Our recent visit left us thoroughly impressed, and it’s easy to see why this place is so highly regarded on Mumbai’s culinary map.
Food: True Italian Soul, Done Right
The menu is a celebration of classic Italian flavours, and everything we tried was cooked to perfection. The wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas are undoubtedly the stars of the show—beautifully blistered crust, light yet chewy, with just the right balance of toppings. We tried the Margherita D.O.P., and it was easily one of the most authentic representations of Naples-style pizza you’ll find in Mumbai.
Their pastas are another standout. Hand-crafted and fresh, each dish was layered with flavour. The Truffle Fettuccine was rich, earthy, and indulgent, while the Penne Arrabbiata had the perfect amount of kick—bold without being overpowering.
Desserts were no afterthought either. The Tiramisu was light, airy, and perfectly boozy—exactly how it should be. A lovely way to end the meal.
Drinks & Wine Selection
The drinks menu complements the food well. From a curated wine list featuring excellent Italian selections to cocktails with a European flair, there’s something for every palate. The Aperol Spritz was refreshing and well-balanced, and their coffee game was solid too—great to sip alongside dessert.
Ambience: Elegant Yet Inviting
Gustoso’s interiors are warm and sophisticated. Think muted tones, soft lighting, and tasteful décor with Mediterranean influences. Whether you’re out for a romantic date, a family meal, or a casual lunch with friends, the space is versatile and welcoming.
The open pizza oven adds character, and the gentle hum of the kitchen only adds to the authentic feel. It’s upscale without being pretentious—a rare balance in Bandra’s bustling food scene.
Service: Professional and Thoughtful
The staff at Gustoso are attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly well-trained. From wine pairing suggestions to explaining ingredient sourcing, their service adds another layer of quality to the overall experience. Every course was served with care and perfect timing, and they made us feel welcome throughout.
Final Thoughts
Gustoso isn’t just a good Italian restaurant—it’s a truly authentic Italian dining experience, right in the heart of Bandra. It’s ideal for both special occasions and refined casual dining. With its consistent food quality, exceptional pizzas and pastas, attentive service, and warm ambience, it earns a solid place in Mumbai’s top-tier restaurants.

Read moreMy First Visit to Gustoso since it revamped. This place is amazing. Has a chic look. Lovely feel once you enter. Has that Italian touch to it. Bar counter is big. Wood Fire oven. Looks like a fine dine. Serves some amazing cocktails. Pizzas are the USP, also known for their classic Italian dishes and desserts. Featured in Gourmet Pizza collections (worth)
Started with Aperol Spritz, madewell. Just perfect. Nice combination of Aperol/Chandon with soda. Mango Martini is worth a try.
Zuppe - Do try their Zuppa de Prochini (mushroom) Lovely velvety texture. Thick porcini mushroom soup with onions. Truffle oil enhances the taste. A bit of Leek/garlic/thyme. Overall rich and tasted good.
Insalata - Did not want to take chances, went for the INSALATA DI BURRATA (Classic) Burrata being the key element. Arugula/cherry tomato (this was oven roasted - soft) Avocado had mustard vinaigrette dressing. Roasted hazelnut gave that crunchiness to the salad. Balsamic glaze that sweetness required. Overall simple yet an Italian classic.
ANTIPASTI - had a good choice, Opted for GAMBERONI ALL" AGLIO - this is basically Prawns (King size) fresh catch. This was sautéed in white wine served with tangy garlicky tomato sauce with herbs. Loved the combination. Had a good balance and lovely texture to it.
PASTE - opted for their signature TAGLIOLINI BOMBAY (homemade pasta) this is made live. Basically paste itself is tossed in Grana Padano Cheese wheel (Hard cheese which one can compare to parmesan) with brandy flambé. Something different. A bit sticky. Richness all the way. Tasted good.
SECONDI - POLLO ALLA CACCIATORA (means Hunter in Italian) this is hunter style preparation of chicken with onions/herbs using tomato bell pepper and wine. This was served with Mashed potatoes (fantastic buttery rich) topped with Crispy capers. Balance was good. Nicely done.
PIZZE - a bit confused. Went for the GIULIO'S MONTARANA (this is the name of the person who made this happen) Guess the Brain behind the Pizzas. Crust surprisingly was in between a medium and thick. That how i like. Light at the same time. So here the crust is first fried and then baked. San Marzano sauce, mozzarella basil and parmesan. Simple yet classic. Good texture and taste.
In between ordered for Bellini and Dirty Martini - both made well. Hats off to the Bartender.
Dessert -Tiramisu (their classic way of preparing) perfect in balance. Italian coffee and mascarpone with Cocoa and Savoiardi biscuit.
Overall - liked the feel. Service was TOO Fast. Hardly takes less than 5 minutes for the dish to come to the table. Now is this Positive or Negative i am not...
Read moreAs the saying goes that there is nothing more romantic than an Italian meal and Gustoso only adds to the entire romantic experience and enhances it to another level altogether. I’m literally in love with this place and moreover this cuisine has always been my weakness so how can I not come home feeling happy happy!!!!! Chef Ravi is humble man who dished out some of the best dishes for the vegetarians like us. Larzan, who attended our table is one of the best guys i have met in the service industry. Initially I was skeptical as I felt that a fine dine like this would have some snooty staff but I was wrong. These guys r so warm and welcoming that we really felt at utmost ease and comfort here.
The food and drinks we enjoyed are as follows;
Drinks - I tried a white wine, pasqua pinot Grigio delle, this was a smooth flavour and went extremely well with this kind of food. The Mocktail we tried was the Italian lemonade. Was basic and refreshing.
Zuppe - Zuppa du porcini. So a mushroom soup with onions, leek, garlic, thyme and some truffle oil. Was heavenly. Loved it. Thick and creamy texture and slight buttery flavour.
Antipasti- we started with crostini which was made with goat cheese and oyster mushrooms. I simply love goat cheese as it’s slightly more salty and it tastes fantastic. This small plate was nothing short of wooowwww !!! Do try it.
Then came the cheese platter which had smoked mozzarella, goat cheese, Gorgonzola, walnuts, olives, berry dip etc. overall the goat cheese and the berry dip were absolutely drool worthy. Do try this combination. It’s a mix of sweet, sour, salty and fruity. Loved it.
Parmigiana di melanzane. Baked sliced eggplant layered with Parmesan, tomato sauce, basil and mozzarella. Fantastic dish.
Pizza - we tried the in-house special, Giulios Montanara. This recipe has been passed down by chef Giulio and it’s a wonderful preparation of lightly fried pizza base and later baked with the special San Marzano Tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil. The crust is so perfect and crispy due to the initial process of frying the pizza base. A basic simple pizza but tasted so fantastic. No words to describe this.
Dessert - Espresso croquant. A coffee flavoured Gilato with lots of nuts. Was excellent. If u love coffee at the end of a good Italian meal then this is it. We loved it. Tortino. Chocolate lava cake with vanilla icecream and berry compote. Fabulous dessert.
I still can’t get over this meal and I can’t wait to go back here again. I’m literally salivating even thinking about this meal right now....
