Copper Chimney is an ode to the secret recipes and cooking techniques that Mr. J K Kapur envisioned using influences from slow-cooked dishes across undivided North India, from Peshawar to Delhi. When Mr. JK Kapur migrated to Bombay from Modern-day Pakistan in the wake of Partition, he wanted to share the flavours of his childhood. In November 1972, he opened the first Copper Chimney in Bombay.
The restaurant provides 3 floor seatings however the 2nd floor is currently under renovation. The ground section looks elegant with bright lights amd plants are used to give a tropical touch. The seatings are comfortable and the walls are nicely done showcasing their legacy. The 3rd floor section have a bar and the seatings there too is great. Overall loved the ambiance and the royal feel.
The menu contains dishes from India and Pakistan and every detail is perfectly explained in the menu and from where they originate is also given. So the self explanatory menu really helps. The dishes are nicely balanced for both vegetarians and non vegetarians as options available are good. Prices are at par with similar type of fine dine brands and the quantity served was satisfying.
I went here for dinner and the kitchen service was on time. Special thanks to Manager Shyam & Staff Mangesh who made the table service perfect.
What We Had - APPETIZERS~ Achari Chicken Tikka - Juicy huge chicken pieces marinated in light mustard base spices and grilled to perfection tasted delicious. Loved the light flavours of the spices as it wasn't tangy like an achar but taste wise you will get a hint of achar. Hence loved eating every bit of this.
Bhatti Murgh Tikka - Classic chicken tikka grilled nicely tasted outstanding. Thier spices are hands down one of the best as it tasted really good as it had nice smoky flavours of the chillies. Eating it with onion and chutney made this heavenly.
MAINS~ Kadhai Paneer - Fresh paneer done in onion, peppers and tomato based gravy with light spiced used and finished with red chillies and pounded coriander seeds tastes superb. Loved the flavours in the gravy is it looked tangy and spicy however it was just perfect. The paneer again was fresh and tasty. Also main course can be ordered in 2 portions so you can decide as per your appetite and hunger.
Tawa Chicken Biryani - This is my favourite here hence I try it always. Rice with good amount of oil and masala along with boneless chicken tasted great. The rice to masala ratio was spot on and it had bold spicy flavour. Loved the chicken in this but you will love eating the rice more.
DESSERTS~ Muzaffar - This is their signature dessert. Thick rabdi with dryfruits topped with fried vermicelli looks great and tasted good. This dessert is super heavy and sweet so I loved eating this. The thick rabdi and the vermicelli goes nicely with each other and the dry fruits adds nice touch.
Rasmalai - Again a perfect dessert. Soft rasmalai with saffron and dry fruits tasted heavenly together. Loved eating every spoon of this and this is not that sweet of compared to muzaffar.
MOCKTAILS~ Virgin Pina Colada. Blue Breeze. Both the mocktails tasted great as the mix was perfectly done.
So the meal at Copper Chimney once again was a satisfying and memorable experience as the food, the ambiance and the service was top class and indeed they are taking the legacy to high sky. Hence do visit them as you...

This is another excellent recommendation by my friend Shakun. We are staying at Novotel in Juhu, so we enjoyed a leisurely walk on the beach to reach the restaurant. We were welcomed very graciously and seated by the hostess. Since we had walked on the beach and were all very sandy, my husband, my daughters (aged 5 and 7), and I went to the restroom to wash up. When we returned to our table, I was pleasantly surprised to find it set up with a kids’ menu featuring lots of activities, along with sets of crayons and a chef hat crown that both my girls promptly put on. This was such a refreshing change on our 13th day in India, as until now we hadn’t seen a kids menu specifically geared for children in any of the restaurants we’ve visited. It was definitely a highlight for me.
We were kindly greeted by our servers Mukul and Manojit Roy, and their service throughout our meal was outstanding. They offered thoughtful recommendations, anticipated our needs, checked in at just the right moments without being intrusive, and treated our whole family with genuine warmth and respect.
For dinner, both my daughters wanted popcorn chicken—actually their favorite back home—and they were thrilled to see it on the menu. One chose a vanilla milkshake and the other a chocolate milkshake. The popcorn chicken was a bit spicy for their mild palates—but they loved the milkshakes.
My husband and I chose the Fish and Mixed Meats kebab platter. Mukul honestly informed us that the fish was unavailable, and substituted another chicken kebab, which we were completely fine with. We ordered the kebabs as served, thinking our girls might want to try them—and it turned out to be an excellent decision. The girls devoured the chicken reshmi kebab. It was so satisfying to see them enjoying something from the Indian menu, knowing we’ve found another safe and delicious option for them here in India.
We also ordered Rawalpindi Gosht, extra spicy, along with roomali roti and rice to accompany our meal. My husband was delighted with the kebabs—every bite was melt‑in‑your‑mouth tender. The Rawalpindi Gosht was succulent and richly flavored; we absolutely loved it. Despite being full, Mukul suggested the baked motichoor rabri for dessert. It was absolutely delicious—the warm, layered sweetness with the motichoor bits and creamy rabri was the perfect end to our meal.
We loved everything about this place. From the walk-in welcome to the thoughtful touches for our kids, the exceptional service by Mukul and Manojit, and the outstanding food, Copper Chimney Juhu made our evening truly memorable. We will...
