Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Palm Grove — Hotel in Mumbai

I recently endured the absolute worst hotel experience of my life at the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Palm Grove in Juhu. Arriving at 11:30 PM on June 25th, I was shocked to discover that their advertised beach access was a complete lie. There were no beachfront amenities whatsoever.

When I requested a beach view room, they had the audacity to demand an extra charge. Upon inspection, the view was of Juhu Road, littered with homeless people and street dogs—a far cry from the beach. I refused to pay for such a dismal sight and settled for a non-smoking room. Even this room stank of cigarettes, but we were too exhausted to argue further and asked for air freshener.

The room's condition was appalling. It was missing a side table, and the only available charging point was on the opposite side. The toilet flush panel fell apart, causing water to leak everywhere, and the toilet paper holder crashed to the floor with the slightest touch. Even the dustbin was broken. Housekeeping's solution was to replace the bin with a lidless one and drag a coffee table to act as a side table—absolutely ridiculous.

Desperate to escape this nightmare, I tried to cancel my second night through Agoda. The bed, supposedly a king-size, was two singles pushed together, making for a horrendous, uncomfortable sleep with the mattress poking painfully in the middle. The air conditioning was locked at a freezing temperature, despite my efforts to adjust it, leaving me shivering and sleepless with a cold.

The next morning, the duty manager promised to resolve these issues. After a long day, we returned at 3 AM, only to find nothing had been done. We requested a late check-out, only to be begrudgingly granted until 2 PM. Despite this agreement, staff incessantly disturbed me from 11 AM onwards, ignoring my requests for peace while I was unwell.

This hotel embodies the pinnacle of incompetence and indifference. From the rude front desk staff to the unhelpful housekeeping, no one cared about guest comfort. I will never set foot in this disgraceful establishment again and urge everyone to avoid it at all costs. Do yourself a favor and...

Subject: Disastrous "5-Star" Experience at Ramada Plaza Juhu - Avoid at All Costs!

Let me be absolutely clear: the Ramada Plaza Juhu is a massive disappointment masquerading as a 5-star hotel. In reality, it barely scrapes by as a 2 or 3-star establishment, yet they shamelessly charge 5-star prices.

My stay was a catalogue of errors and appalling service, starting with the management's empty promises. Mr. Somnath Dutta's attempts to "care" were nothing more than hollow apologies and retracted offers. He initially suggested remediation for the numerous issues we faced, only to later deny ever making such promises. I was repeatedly told I was wrong, which added insult to injury.

The staff's attitude was equally abysmal. Unprofessional, rude, and seemingly trained to look busy while accomplishing nothing, they epitomized incompetence. I was even told to sit alone for breakfast because they couldn't accommodate a party of six, despite the hotel being far from full.

The rooms, while decent in appearance, were far from luxurious. They provided amenities suitable for only one person (robes, slippers, etc.) despite being a 5-star hotel. To add to the misery, the room's drainage was shockingly poor, leading to flooding on two separate occasions. This is simply unacceptable, especially considering I've had better experiences in budget hotels.

Even after multiple complaints, the manager's attempt to rectify the situation with an upgraded room, dinner, and complimentary breakfast was ultimately retracted. I was left feeling completely dismissed and disrespected.

Frankly, I am appalled at the level of service and product offered by this Ramada property. For a large chain, this is a severe embarrassment. I strongly advise anyone considering a stay in Juhu to look elsewhere. There are numerous hotels in the vicinity that genuinely value their guests.

I will never stay at a Ramada hotel again, knowing this is how they treat their customers.
