When I started my corporate career back in 2004, I heard that a cart was gonna come up with goan food, and I was like ok.
Now after all these years, this evening I was desperately hunting for pork and beef and I remembered about this place, what better platform to search for them than Google, and yes they still existed.
I looked up their menu on Google and they had an old menu with old prices; however, they had what I wanted, pork and beef. I call the number to inquire if they accepted gpay and I was told they did, it would have been a shame if they did not.
Believe me the walk from my house till the cart was not even 5 minutes, I read the menu available and I see different prices, which is totally fine, considering the fact that everything is so expensive these days and we all want to earn that extra profit. All said and done, there was an elderly guy and a young boy, so I ordered a beef tawa chilly fry and a goan sausage chilly fry by pointing out at the menu to the boy so he would not make mistakes with the order.
I come home and the food is opened after a few hours to be reheated b4 dinner and what I see when I open the containers is what I did not like.
The sausage chilly fry was NOT what I wanted but instead a regular pork masala fry with chunks of pork fat and less of the meat, and as usual east Indian cooking and goan cooking is all about the red color, which I am tired of after all these years. I tasted the pork jus to make sure that it wasn't the sausage and I can confirm that it wasn't, HUGE disappointment. Rs 230/- for a lie.
Now let's talk about the beef, it was jus a regular green masala beef curry which was reduced by by simmering it until it turned thick, I can guarantee you that this is no beef tawa masala fry, how? & why? Coz as per the goan cuisine there isn't any dish named beef tawa masala fry, ask me coz I have lived in goa for eons and nobody knows goan cuisine better than me. Tasted ok, I wouldn't say good or bad, jus ok, Rs 250/-.
Now importantly when we are cooking pork with fat, it's always recommended to not use or if you're using oil to use very little coz the fat does the job, it goes with any meat that has fat included, basic rule of cooking.
So after spending Rs 480/- at this place and what I got in return, I'd say that it's not worth the hype, maybe ok for teenagers, college going types or for people who have no clue about the actual taste...
Read moreSaw an Instagram reel and headed straight to Goan Cart as it was just 15 minutes away! My and my buddy had the following:
🏋🏾♂️ Bodybuilder Chicken Burger : 4.5/5 🥩 Beef Steak Burger : 4/5 🍤 Prawn Burger : 1/5 (we sort of expected prawn pattie or cutlet but it was juat gravy, disappointed) 🍗 Chicken Steak (Burger) : 3/5 (the -1 is for the disappointment again, as we expected just steak but this was also a burger but the taste was good)
Please note: Carry something to drink and there is not enough...

Well, there is very little to choose from. Although it is tasty, it isnt the same like it used to be once. It's almost pricey for a small snack. Go there for nostalgia, for the taste of goan snacks (bread makes the difference in Goa), a small chat with friends while you stand and...
