Hotel Samrat — Restaurant in Mumbai

1. We had lunch on 25 oct 2023. We did payment with Upi 2 times both payment fail to receive by Restaurant, but it got deducted from my bank account. Then I paid through cash (my bill amt Rs 567)
2. After following up for 10 days with bank & NPCI They told it has been credited to samrat account in 28 oct 2023.
3. I came on 7 nov 2023 to follow up with samrat I informed them to show their bank account statement so that I can identify the transaction with (Transaction ID). Manager told come on 13 nov till then he will take out bank statement from bank.
4. Then I came again on 13 nov 2023 he took my upi I'd contact number & told me till End of day he will refund me back & he did not showed the Bank statement also.
5. Then I visited again on 14 nov 2023, again he did not showed the bank statement & gave useless talk to me. When I abused & shouted him then he paid cash Rs 1134 (567×2) & then I left.
6. This hotel manager do good amount of scam in their cash transaction. I urge everybody to not eat at the Samrat hotel because somewhere they are doing good amount of fraud in their cash payments & UPI transaction also.
7. Food quality is ok but their waiter & staff will continue stare at females.

We were looking for an authentic gujarati thali restaurant while heading back home. We checked on this one, they did not had one So we thought of trying the main course. The sitting space is a bit of an issue specially if you are a tall person , its quite compact, seats are like general train seats However what bold us over was the fast service and food quality. We ordered butter naan, kadhai paneer, dal tadka , biryani - all were very tasty with a perfect blend of spices, a perfect mix of spicy and tangy. Naan - was perfectly prepared and overall look and feel was also nice.

Masala papad - was not upto the mark needs improvement.

I wouldn’t recommend this place based on my experience.

I recently visited Samrat Restaurant and had a very disappointing experience. I ordered Lehsooni Methi, which turned out to be extremely bitter and unpalatable. When I raised this issue with the staff, including the manager, they were dismissive and repeatedly told me that “it’s like that only,” instead of addressing my concern.

Frustrated, I asked them to take the dish back and ordered something else. To my surprise, they still charged me for the Lehsooni Methi, even though I didn’t consume it and had clearly complained about its taste. Despite explaining my dissatisfaction, they refused to adjust the bill.
