visited janata on friday evening for dinner! From the outside it looks like a very simple, mid budget restaurant and bar. it doesn't look very Student especially female friendly too! but the story is just the opposite. the crowd is mostly college going and young working crowd along with otherd ofcourse. got a seating after a wait of around 20 minutes. they've got a lower non-ac seating. and they've got seating on the first which has ac. the area is a bit cramped up because of small space and too many tables. the decor is nothing fancy. they've got a small TV which was playing IPL match. it was very nice of them to accommodate a group of 18 of us despite space issues!
coming to the food. we ordered quite a lot of stuff which was spread out on different tables along with lots of liquer! what we ordered was-
chicken lollypops- my non vegetarian friends ordered this and it was just a lip smacking dish. great starter. captain Morgan and chicken lollypops!
veg balls in garlic sauce- basically Manchurian balls in garlic sauce. a very tasty dish I must say. recommended!
veg Schzewan fried rice- nicely made rice. but i felt it lacked the Schzwan feel to it. had to order another bowl of schzwan which was charged! could have been better.
veg fried rice- good. but could have been better. they were kind of bland for a chinese dish!
ordered for few rounds of rum, vodka and beer and soft drinks.
the service here is really quick and warm. the staff is efficient. vibe is pretty nice here. it can get really crowded on weekends so make sure to come here well in advance. its a nice place to catch up for a few drinks but you can't chill here coz it's usually crowded and there is waiting. apart from that i thought the place is expensive for the decor, ambience and taste of food they provide. hard liquor is kind of...

Janata is the place for you. Located in a bustling junction place in Bandra, Janata is almost hidden among a row of shops. This place is pretty old, yet attracts people of all ages.
From partygoers looking to get high before hitting a nightclub, to groups of old men reminiscing, to college kids just hanging out.
Janata ended up being only a backup plan, after the 5 of us refused at nearby PJ's, for the want of shoes. We reached at about 7-30, and had to wait about 45 minutes to get a place.
The entire first floor (AC section) was full, and hence we had to make do with a table on the ground floor. Surprisingly, our waiter was pretty attentive, despite the crowd at the place. We ordered beer after beer, and starters to go with it.
Having gotten to hear Tulu when the owners were conversing with the waiters, and given my craving for Mangalorean food, I ordered a Chicken Sukka, and a Veg Crispy for the unfortunate vegetarian in the group.
Chicken Sukka was pretty decent, considering this was Mumbai. The Veg Crispy, however was disappointing. We then ordered a chicken chilly, and a paneer chilly. The chicken this time was much better, and soft, well cooked. The paneer chilly too was an upgrade from the previous veg starter.
To end with our night of beers, we ordered a chicken tikka, at about 11-30. Another well made dish.
The place gets a 4, primarily due to it's pricing and the fact that the food is...

Review: Janata Bar in Bandra offers an excellent dining experience, especially for seafood lovers. Their Surmai Tawa Fry Special, Bombil Fry, and Prawns Gassi with Neer Dosa are must-try dishes that tantalize the taste buds with authentic flavors.
Arrive for lunch around 12 p.m. to secure available seating, as the place tends to fill up quickly afterward, resulting in waiting times. However, it's worth the wait, as Janata Bar is a fantastic spot for both family gatherings and outings with friends.
Given its bar setting, patrons can complement their meals with beverages of their choice. The seating arrangement exudes a cozy, old-world charm, adding to the overall ambiance.
Service at Janata Bar is commendable, especially if you place your entire order at once. However, evenings can get overwhelmingly crowded, making it advisable to visit during off-peak hours to avoid the rush.
Finding parking nearby can be a bit tricky, so it's recommended to plan accordingly or consider alternative transportation options.
While Janata Bar is bustling with energy, weekends might not be the best time for family outings due to the increased crowd. Overall, Janata Bar offers a delightful culinary journey coupled with a warm ambiance, making it a top choice for seafood aficionados and those seeking an authentic dining...
