Meen Curry at DN Nagar is a vibing seafood restaurant with coastal fusion of flavours.
The open air outside seating has cool vibes and gets Lit up in the evenings. We choose the air conditioned inside seating which had a romantic feel - a little dark for taking pictures but overall cozy.
The service top Notch. The staff were tip toed and attentive. Telepathic - they wud reach you before u wud call them.
The tables were set artistically and the cutlery used looked chic and top grade.
The bar looked fully stocked and we chose to have blackberry crush breezer which went well with the seafood.
What we ate Classic bombil fry - full marks to the presentation. The portions were huge, were perfectly marinated and fried. The chutney was sooo flavourful and the onion kachumber made the dish more or less perfect.
The thalis are available only on mon- thurs for lunch and we decided to grab onto that oppurtunity. The way the thalis were set on the tables gives u a maharaja wali feeling.
The surmai thali - Surmai fry - huge portion, fried to perfection. Tasted yummy.
Surmai curry - flavourful.
Prawns sukha - this was so yummy, i polished it off in seconds.
Soul kadhi - perfect blend of tanginess kokum and sweetened cocont milk - i want more.
Sabudana kheer - light and refreshing. A substitute for normal kheer was delicious and best way to end the meal.
Chapati, rice, papad, pickle - perfect.
The prawn thali The prawns fry - deep fried filled with flavours The prawn curry - yumminess Jowar bhakri - wow
(Other stuff was similar to the surmai thali)
The mouth fresher tingled the tasted buds.
The washroom hygenie was excellent. Spic and span clean.
Missed a little music in the air which wud elevate the entire experience to the next level.

This being a weekday with few tables to attend. The food had quantity but was not at all authentic and poorly prepared e.g
An overhyped outlet due the insta promotion , nowhere close to their claim of authenticity.. should seriously consider to reduce the number of coastal cuisines offered to 1-3 cuisines and change their menu quarterly.
Will not go back again and readers are requested to consider the low ratings seriously by different visitors as one is going to utterly disappointed with...
Read moreOn a rainy sunday afternoon, Meen Curry turned out to be the coziest place for a Sunday lunch with family. As enthusiasts of seafood, with a vegetarian along with us, we were spoilt for choice. The ambience is welcoming, subtle but on theme! The staff is attentive and quick with service. The seating is spacious and plenty.
We ordered the king prawn ghee roast, bombil rawa fry and bengali mochar chop which were simply scrumptious; great quantity for starters and makes you anticipate the next course. The mains were led by the Kosha Mangsho Mutton and Varutharacha Curry Chicken, with a Beans Thoran for the vegetarian. Perfectly cooked and yum all around, accompied by thick malabar parottas. Our stomachs were full and just as we were preparing to leave, we got three gulab jamuns as dessert that were absolutely divine - almost jelly like on the inside, not overly sweet, and tiny enough that I couldn't say no to. Thank you for this experience, looking forward to more such days...
