Origami barely has any competition for the title of best japanese and korean food joints in mumbai. As it is very few restaurants in mumbai serves authentic japanese and korean food, so no doubt i had to explore origami as it was in my bucket list from past few months. Its classy, chic and the entire view is breathtaking. The ambience is so beautiful and the vibe is so good. From the menu card to the cutlery everything is so precise and tastefully designed. The long glass panels gives you the illusion of staying connected with nature while you indulge in some lip smacking delicacies. One of the best places to visit and explore pithora of flavours if you want to try something new, yet flavourful options. They serve best if both Korean as well as japanese cuisines. Even if you are trying this kind of food for tge first time i assure you, you will throughly enjoy the overall experience. Simple, clean flavours thats not too complex yet very flavourful. I truly admire restaurants that have well knowledgeable staff who not only eases your ordering process but also helps you in understanding the food more precisely, which i think is very important. It's always a good idea to be aware about the kind of food thats being served to you. Manager Mr.Krishna was very humble and greeted us with utter happiness and explained us about the idea behind "origami". Our server Ms.Fatima who was genuinely warm and very patiently guided us through the entire menu and helped us to decide our course as per our taste preferences. We were served with 3 types of accomplishments which were as follows: 🔺Kimchi with fish sauce - Chinese cabbage marinated in specially curated spices like soy sauce, chilly, garlic, fish sauce and curated for 5-6 days. Wasnt too pungnent but very flavourful with hint if sweetness. 🔺Chicken salad - Shredded chicken, carrots, onion, cabbage tossed in mayonnaise. served cold. 🔺Raddish - Cubes if raddish curated with fish sauce, spring onions, spices. Served cold. Paired beautifully with shrimp tempura and that added tartness of raddish was amazing. We called for the below mentioned dishes : 🩸 Lemongrass Cooler - Very refreshing with strong flavour if lemongrass and bit of sourness with lemons. Highly recommended 👍 🩸Kimchi Jjigae - Spicy kinchi soup which was more like broth consisted of tofu, chicken, spring onions, kimchi. Extremely delicious and single serving was sufficient for 2 people. It was served bubbling hot on sizzler plate. Highly recommended 👍 🩸 Shrimp Tempura - Huge whole shrimp seasoned with salt and coated with japnese soft flour and fried until crisp. Served along with japense sauce which consisted of soyabean paste mixed with light soy sauce and vinegar. Absolutely divine. Highly recommended 👍 🩸Korean Fried Chicken - Big chunks of chicken coated with korean spices and deep fried. Texture of chicken was sift, and juicy from inside and crispy, crunchy from outside. Tasted too good with chicken salad. 🩸Korean Japche - Thin glass noodles made out of japenese rice was tossed in japenese spice which was spicy along with bean sprouts, prawns, shitake mushrooms, red and yelliw bell peppers, spring onions and sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds. Supremely Tasty and lip smacking. Highly recommended 👍 🩸Japanese Curry - We opted for the veg variant as we really wanted to know if veg food was as good as the non veg one. And i am so glad we took this decision cos this particular dish was soul satisfying. So so good. With base of kimchi and puree of veggies like potatoes, pumpkin, zucchini, carrots, fresh turmeric the gravy was not only creamy but very flavourful. Crunch of cubed vegetables like potatoes, zucchini, carrots, onions, mushroom, broccoli added nice texture to the dish which tasted extremely good with Japanese sticky rice. Highly recommended 👍 🩸Chocolate Fondant - Silky, mousse like texture of rich dark chocolate with hint of saltiness tasted amazing with a scoop of inhouse vanilla ice cream. 🩸Matcha Cheese Cake - By far the best matcha cheesecake i had...
