A large variety of non-vegetarian Malvani/ Maharashrian type food as well as vegetarian (not very good) is available here. The prices are exorbitantly high for the quality here. Fish thali is good with a wide variety of fish and other sea food options. Chicken and mutton thali is decent too. The only problem is that the chicken and mutton are usually a little undercooked. This gives it a rubbery feeling while eating although not unedible. The best part is the solkadhi and the chatni which is mind-blowingly good. The restaurant has two floors: Air conditioning above and normal room temperature below. The staff is pretty efficient and fast in taking and delivering orders. The recent renovation has given it a new look but other things are same. Although it is overall good, the prices make me give it a lower rating. Recommended for...
Read moreFor Good quality food especially fish and that too Malvani style in Girgaon area, Satkar is one of the choice. We ordered Prawns Thali & Surmai Thali with extra Solkadhi. The quality is very good for the food and the Solkadhi was excellent. You get choice of Chapati or Vade with one fry piece and one curry, small bowl of Solkadhi and little chutney, The price is very high compared to the content of Thali. The portions should be increased and more items like KIsmur etc can be added in the thali. The space is pretty small hence it should be arranged with the help of some interior designer. Its pretty odd that customers have to bow to go towards staircase on upper as well as ground floor. Went approx, 4 years before and there is absolutely no change in interior. The rates can be justified if these...
Read moreOrdered a chicken thali with wade and Chicken sukka with wade... The preparation was nice, similar to what I ate 3 or more decades back...total bill was Rs 900... The thali had: 4 big wades, sufficient rice for one(I shared and we probably left some) a small wati of sol kadi(used to be yummy but not so much this time) a chutney which was fantabulous before but it was just alrite this time...no vegetable or any other filler... I personally feel that, for a chicken thali, the cost is on the higher side but then it's my personal opinion based on similar cuisine places across Mumbai. Will I visit again, doubtful because nothing appealed so much that it would be worth the 4hour travel from residence to Mumbai... I loved their fish curry from the past era, not sure if...
