Of course it's overpriced! Of course you are paying for the ambiance! Of course the vegetarian set menu is not worth it! Of course you can't find where the heck it is! Of course you have to ask for your ridiculously overpriced drinks for a thousand times before they are served! BUT let me tell you why a one time splurge is worth it......the sights and sounds of the sea + it's gentle breeze + good company + relatively good food make for a wonderful late evening/night. Now to get there just get into the Novotel Hotel and ask at the front desk for directions, from there you will be guided to one corner of the property, beyond the pool (hence I'm not complaining), to a the open air Bageecha with it's outdoor sitting and open kitchen (sort of) kitchen, sit by the hedge and enjoy the marvel of the newly made spick and span juhu beach and the sea beyond. Theirs is a set menu (vegetarian and non-vegetarian and reasonably extensive) but they do hand you a menu to tell you what's on offer. It's 2k+ for the non-vegetarian set menu (so worth it!) And 1600+ for the vegetarian set menu (so not worth it). Now for the non-vegetarian option they throw every and the kitchen sink of quality meats, fish and shellfish, good array of starters and wonderful curries etc. The vegetarian option (I was the only veg fool of the group) is very monotoned texture wise, everything was super soft with no crunch or bite to anything (good place to take your toothless grandma!) The only thing that was good was their paneer something or the other starter (but come on, if you mess up paneer than why are you even still in business right?) And their super spicy and flavorful mushroom biryani and the basket of Assorted rotis. The carnivores with me were relishing the huge (and fresh) prawns, chicken, mutton and fish options. At the start of the meal they do give a DIY panipuri set with the pani in test tubes and all but mine is a lazy group so we didn't bother with the making of all that (a novelty others may enjoy I'm sure), exactly the reason we opted out of a buffet dinner (who wants to lug around plates of food when here the waiters makes several rounds carrying delicious platters of food). A big gripe is we had to ask for our drinks (beer, fresh lime, sparkling water) at least 7-10 times before they were served, so infuriating that I want to give a 0 rating just on that......but no, I'm reasonable! At the end the desserts hit a home run, the creamy firni, the super spongy gulab jamun, the decadent dudhi halwa (unanimously voted the best halwa anyone of us has ever had) and the kulfi falooda with angel hair pasta thin falooda was a glorious end for ho-hum (for me at least) meal. I didn't click the food pics cause it's strictly standard fare, I did click pics of the surrounding to emphasize that you are paying for the ambiance. Will I drop another 16k here again? Maybe, but not for a year at least and anyway I do think that only in the winter months would it be worth it to spend an evening dining by the sea in Mumbai.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Awadhi Food Festival at Bageecha, located in Novotel Juhu, and I must say, it was an extraordinary culinary adventure that left an indelible mark on my taste buds. Bageecha not only lives up to its reputation as a fine dining destination but also managed to transport me to the regal land of Awadh with its impeccable ambiance, warm hospitality, and mouthwatering delicacies. Upon entering Bageecha, I was immediately struck by the elegant decor, which exuded an aura of sophistication and charm. The restaurant's beautiful garden setting added to the overall experience, creating a serene and relaxed atmosphere that was perfect for indulging in the rich flavors of Awadhi cuisine. The festival menu was a treasure trove of traditional Awadhi dishes, curated to perfection by the talented culinary team at Bageecha. The sheer variety and authenticity of the dishes impressed me beyond words. From aromatic biryanis and kebabs to delectable curries and decadent desserts, every aspect of the Awadhi culinary heritage was meticulously represented. The standout dish of the evening was undoubtedly Tunde Kebab. The melt-in-your-mouth texture, combined with the burst of spices was a true testament to the culinary mastery at Bageecha. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, leaving me yearning for more. The Murgh Dum Biryani was another revelation. The fragrant basmati rice cooked with tender chicken and a medley of aromatic spices transported me to the Nawabi courts of Lucknow. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the dish was presented with utmost finesse, making it a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Bandh Gosht, lamb chunk braised in a bone stock with fresh onion and luscious blend of spices, was a true indulgence. The meat was succulent and flavorful, and the accompanying gravy added an extra layer of richness to the dish. The attention to detail and the quality of ingredients were evident in every bite. The service at Bageecha was exceptional, with the staff displaying deep knowledge of the menu and offering helpful suggestions. The waitstaff was attentive, ensuring that every need was promptly attended to, and their warm hospitality further enhanced the overall dining experience. In conclusion, my visit to Bageecha for the Awadhi Food Festival was an absolute delight. The culinary journey through the flavors of Awadh was truly remarkable, and the team at Bageecha deserves commendation for their commitment to authenticity and excellence. If you're a lover of Awadhi cuisine or simply seeking a unique dining experience, Bageecha is an absolute must-visit.

We had one of our dinners while staying at Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach at Bageecha restaurant. The specialty Indian restaurant of Novotel Mumbai was what we were excited for. Crossing the garden area and the pool, we reached the beautiful restaurant and were excited to dine in besides the pool under the starlit sky and around the palm trees. The 45 seater restaurant features heritage and ancient recipes of India that might be forgotten by us. A proper Indian ancient dining set up was waiting for us. Chef Kuldeep greeted us with a beautiful smile and acquainted us with the menu for the night. Small buckets with various dips- garlic, apple and mint chutneys accompanied with papad made its way to our table. An Indian meal is incomplete without mint chutney and papad….isn’t it? For starters, we had Kabuli Chicken Tikka- soft, juicy succulent chicken tikka pieces served with sliced onions, lemon and green chilli. They tasted great with the chutneys. Rawa Fish Fry was crispy, very tasty and authentic. I have never had such tasty fish. A must try! Soft and mushy inside and juicy too served with onions, tomatoes, carrots and lemon. Just perfect! Punjabi Murgh Tikka was a little spicy but juicy with big pieces of chicken marinated and done well in Punjabi style. Appetizing and great to eat! Time for Tangri Chicken. Aah! The best part of the chicken. Well marinated, mildly spiced and well presented with cucumber slices, tomatoes and chillies. Juicy and succulent! Paneer Tikka had soft, big chunks of paneer which were great and perfectly spiced. Galauti Kebab were melt in mouth! The bite-sized kabab made it so convenient to eat. Achari Fish Tikka and Kalaunji Fish Tikka had great margination with unique flavours which we loved. Since we were almost full, we didn’t order a lot in Main course. Dal Makhani was tasty, creamy with a rich consistency and was flavourful. Butter Chicken was made with small boneless pieces which were soft, juicy, perfect with a yummy gravy and spices. Homestyle Palak had homely style patta, laccha palak- very desi and Indian. We relished all this with raita and assorted breads- Tandoori and Roomali Rotis which were fresh, soft and yummy. For Desserts, our picks were Basoondi, with dry fruits and strawberries, a milk-based dessert which was amazing. Gulab Jamun was good, deliciously laden with pistas.  Not to forget Rajbhog Ice-cream and the Paan ice-cream- with a lovely after taste. The perfect heavenly end!

If you’re a food enthusiast seeking a remarkable dining experience in Mumbai, look no further than Bageecha, nestled within the elegant premises of Novotel Mumbai. This restaurant is an absolute gem, offering a delightful blend of exquisite flavors, impeccable service, and a serene ambiance that transports you away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

From the moment you step foot into Bageecha, you are greeted with warm hospitality that sets the tone for an unforgettable meal. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the culinary creations they present, making you feel like a valued guest.

The menu at Bageecha boasts an extensive array of dishes, catering to every palate. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted, showcasing the brilliance of Indian cuisine while incorporating contemporary twists that elevate the dining experience to new heights. The blend of traditional and modern flavors is a true testament to the chef’s expertise and creativity.

For appetizers, I highly recommend trying their Prawn Varuval - a succulent medley of perfectly spiced prawns that will leave your taste buds dancing with joy.
