Of course it's overpriced! Of course you are paying for the ambiance! Of course the vegetarian set menu is not worth it! Of course you can't find where the heck it is! Of course you have to ask for your ridiculously overpriced drinks for a thousand times before they are served! BUT let me tell you why a one time splurge is worth it......the sights and sounds of the sea + it's gentle breeze + good company + relatively good food make for a wonderful late evening/night. Now to get there just get into the Novotel Hotel and ask at the front desk for directions, from there you will be guided to one corner of the property, beyond the pool (hence I'm not complaining), to a the open air Bageecha with it's outdoor sitting and open kitchen (sort of) kitchen, sit by the hedge and enjoy the marvel of the newly made spick and span juhu beach and the sea beyond. Theirs is a set menu (vegetarian and non-vegetarian and reasonably extensive) but they do hand you a menu to tell you what's on offer. It's 2k+ for the non-vegetarian set menu (so worth it!) And 1600+ for the vegetarian set menu (so not worth it). Now for the non-vegetarian option they throw every and the kitchen sink of quality meats, fish and shellfish, good array of starters and wonderful curries etc. The vegetarian option (I was the only veg fool of the group) is very monotoned texture wise, everything was super soft with no crunch or bite to anything (good place to take your toothless grandma!) The only thing that was good was their paneer something or the other starter (but come on, if you mess up paneer than why are you even still in business right?) And their super spicy and flavorful mushroom biryani and the basket of Assorted rotis. The carnivores with me were relishing the huge (and fresh) prawns, chicken, mutton and fish options. At the start of the meal they do give a DIY panipuri set with the pani in test tubes and all but mine is a lazy group so we didn't bother with the making of all that (a novelty others may enjoy I'm sure), exactly the reason we opted out of a buffet dinner (who wants to lug around plates of food when here the waiters makes several rounds carrying delicious platters of food). A big gripe is we had to ask for our drinks (beer, fresh lime, sparkling water) at least 7-10 times before they were served, so infuriating that I want to give a 0 rating just on that......but no, I'm reasonable! At the end the desserts hit a home run, the creamy firni, the super spongy gulab jamun, the decadent dudhi halwa (unanimously voted the best halwa anyone of us has ever had) and the kulfi falooda with angel hair pasta thin falooda was a glorious end for ho-hum (for me at least) meal. I didn't click the food pics cause it's strictly standard fare, I did click pics of the surrounding to emphasize that you are paying for the ambiance. Will I drop another 16k here again? Maybe, but not for a year at least and anyway I do think that only in the winter months would it be worth it to spend an evening dining by the...

Bandh Gosht, lamb chunk braised in a bone stock with fresh onion and luscious blend of spices, was a true indulgence. The meat was succulent and flavorful, and the accompanying gravy added an extra layer of richness to the dish. The attention to detail and the quality of ingredients were evident in every bite.
