Zooby's Kitchen — Restaurant in Nainital

Zoobys was the best restaurant we ate at on our trip to Nainital. It's a fantastic property located on the Mall road and has an amazing view of the Lake , even at night. Zoobys was recommended to us by our concierge at Manu Maharani and they were absolutely right , it is the best place in Nainital for food. We didn't have to wait for a seat and were given a place with the view of the lake and mall road. The restaurant has a wonderful vibe to it and the ambience is amazing. Very fresh and modern. Our server Anand Ji was fantastic. He was very interactive and really took good care of us. He recommended the food and we ordered that . Another amazing thing about Zoobys is that they cater to all sorts of travellers, so even a solo traveller can enjoy a meal easily here as the portion sizes can be chosen accordingly. All the utensils were clean here.

We went for the smaller portion sizes so that we could try a few different items . On the recommendations of Anand Ji we just order -

1. Zoobys Special Tandoori Chicken - As said before they have different portion sizes so we went with 3 pieces option. It's their twist on Tandoori Chicken. The Tandoori Chicken is covered with their in house sauce which may remind one of Afghani Chicken but is very different. It is presented beautifully and looks exotic and special the way they serve it. The sauce is based of Cream and Butter , but it's main base is curd . So the sauce has a nice depth of flavours from the curd and the masala of the tandoori chicken and richness from the Butter and cream. It has a slight sourness which is really enjoyable. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was super juicy and tender. Amazing dish and 5/5.

2. Nali Nihari - The next dish to come was the Nali Nihari . We ordered Butter Naan along with it as we weren't in the mood for roti. For the Nali Nihari we went with the portion which has 2 pieces of Lamb. The Butter Naan was great , soft and buttery as one would expect. It was cut into 3 slices and was great as one would expect. The Nihari was fantastic . A light oily based gravy perfect for a bread to absorb. The gravy had a decent amount of chillies and ginger and the flavours were very mild yet punchy at the same time. The mutton here was fantastic , really tasty and tender. Another 5/5.

3. Dum Pukht Mutton Biryani - Final dish was the Mutton Biryani . Our server has informed it would take the most time as it is cooked fresh. We anyways wanted it to be served last so it sat well with us. The mutton biryani was served in a beautiful black clay handi(pot) . And once one opens it , the steam along with the wonderful fragrance of the biryani comes gushing out. It was piping hot and stayed that way throught our whole meal. This was actually a true biryani with no colour or anything. Just a simple masala was used which coated the rice gently . The rice was very fragrant and again mild flavours yet very punchy , just the way biryani should be like. The biryani also had chillies which were nice and spicy. It was also served along with Raita and Chilli Sauce. The Chilli Sauce was very hot and spicy so didn't indulge too much. But that chilli sauce with that light fragrant biryani rice was awesome. The raita was great too and went perfectly with the rice. The biryani comes with 2 pieces of mutton and that's the only size option. And the 2 pieces of mutton in the biryani were just HUGE HUNKS of Meat which were absolutely fall of the bone and really really tasty. The portion is actually perfect for 2 with the rice and huge pieces of mutton . One of the best biryanis I have ever had , a must try here at Zoobys and it's a 5/5 !

Overall had an amazing meal at Zoobys with the great service , lovely Ambience and view , delicious food and best was the price. We did indulge quite a bit and the bill with all taxes for the 3 dishes and a Pepsi was under 1500₹ , around 1440₹ which is just amazing and actually worth the money. We had our best meal for the best price here at Zoobys and undoubtedly the best restaurant...

Mall road is the most popular places when you visit Nainital and my recent visit to this amazing hill station turned out to be a great experience. That's when I discovered hidden gem which serves exquisite food. One should simply never miss this place to eat when in Nainital.

A restaurant with welcoming vibes, classy ambience, easy to reach location with pleasant lake side view. I was looking for dine out while roaming when I came across this beautiful restaurant. Classy wooden interiors along with beautiful ambience. A place you would love to visit again and again.

There's something for everyone on the menu with lots of choices. We were getting confused so much while deciding main course and the staff is helpful in suggesting just the right things you're looking for. First we ordered Soup - Cream of Tomato which was so perfect in texture and tasted amazing. In main course we had Mix Veg Pulao with Cucumber Raita. I had never ever tasted any mix veg Pulao like this one tasted. The flavours were so perfect with the blend of spices. Raita was good. Later on we finished our meal from Pina Colada Beverages. We ordered 2, i.e., Pina Colada Virgin and Pina Colada Passion Fruit. Both were so mesmerizing. None of them could be compared to any of the Beverages I have ever had. Such rich flavours were blending into my taste buds that they made my meal complete.

The presentation of the food was good. I loved the way they presented beverages. Staff was courteous and hard working. Great service was provided moreover the everyone was attentive.

Had a fantastic night over here. It added gems to my Nainital trip. Wonderful experience. Definitely worth visiting. Keep up...

my reCent visit to Zooby's KitcHen in NainitaL was a thoroughly disappointinG eXperience. From the momenT we stepped inside, the atmosphere feLt off. The seating was unComfortable, making it difficult to reLax and enjoy our meaL. Unfortunately, the service did little to imProVe the situation. The staff was incredibly sLow, and we waited an unreasonable amount of time for everything, from drinks to ouR main courses... The food itself waS a major letdown. The prices weRe exorbitantly high, especially considering the meageR portions served. The breads, such as naan and tandoori roti, were particularly overpriced for their quality. The menu was also poorly organized and offered a very limiTed selection of sTarters and main dishes... To add insuLt to injury, the drinks were also significantly overpriced. The mocktails, in particular, were not enjoyable... Overall, i cannot reCommend Zooby's Kitchen to anyone, especially families. It waS by far the worst dining experience I've had in nainitaL The combination of uncomfortable seating, slow service, overpriced and underwhelming FOod, and disappointing drinks made for a truly regrettable meal. Save your money and tiMe, and find a better restaurant in this...
