Review of Shaukin Bhel

Shaukin Bhel is considered one of the prominent names among chaat lovers, known for having multiple outlets across the city. It attracts a large number of people, especially youngsters and families, who enjoy Indian street-style snacks. The place usually remains crowded in the evenings and weekends, which clearly shows its popularity among local foodies.

However, when it comes to the actual taste and quality, my personal experience was quite disappointing. Being a genuine chaat lover, I was excited to try their varieties of bhel, sev puri, dahi puri, and other snacks. Unfortunately, the taste turned out to be far from authentic. The chaat items were unnecessarily spicy, with an excessive use of chili paste that completely overpowered the natural flavor of the ingredients. In fact, even the bhel — which should ideally be tangy and refreshing — was dominated by an extreme level of spiciness that made it hard to enjoy.

The quality of ingredients also seemed below average. It felt as if the focus was more on making the food look tempting rather than maintaining a proper balance of taste and hygiene. For someone who truly loves traditional chaat flavors, Shaukin Bhel fails to meet expectations. Overall, it’s an overrated spot that needs serious improvement in taste and quality. Disappointing. This is my personal opinion, no hard feelings. This chain is just an hype because of some youtubers. First thing is taste. I from Mumbai, also stayed in Pune and frankly speaking you will get so many small or big but unknown bhelwala who's chaat taste is way better than Shaukin. I think even in Nashik you will find such unknown bhelwalas. Second thing is quantity and price. Its simply just a joke. Third thing is their treatment to the customer. But you can ignore this point may be because of rush and work load they are behaving like this. Fourth thing is their Zatka. Its just raw Masala and Mirchi, nothing special like some secret recipe. I have been going to this place since last 12 years their ZATKA Pani puri is one of the most spiciest pani puri in the world . They have a peculiar taste which no one can replicate. They also serve chocolate pani puri , cheese pani puri, pani puri shots, fruit pani puri and much more. They also serve Jain Puris concept of chocolate pani puri: Normal Puris are coated with a layer of chocolate and are then filled with white and dark chocolate tutti frutty few pomegranate pearls and topped with sprinkles.
