When the roots belong to none other than Veda, you know that you are about to expect Authenticity at it's best. Couldn't have expected less and Indian Republic Canteen by Veda has emerged as a Replica baby of it's mother Veda restaurant.

As the name goes along with Canteen, this place is in the concept of offering best of Indian and Regional cuisines according to the weekday plan and also Daily all time favorite and sides. Loved the concept as they strictly focus on quality meals curated day wise rather Quantity.

Served in Earthen pots and sealed with see through packaging well labelled reminds you of the cultural root from where Indian Menu has especially been curated. The Earthen pots with banana leaves not only adds to the visual aesthetic appeal but also enhance the taste and delight of dining. We were in hush and really wanted to try food from this place from quite some time, so we requested A Take Away.

Full bowl Dhaniya Murg:

This is one of the best delicacy I have tasted after long time. The semi thick brown gravy coats the boneless chicken so well and the coriander  flavors were oozing out. Finger licking good and mouth melt-in, this chicken is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Roti Bowl Daal Makhni:

A medium portion of Delicious and original daal Makhni along with 4 Tawa rotis was something to die for. I have faced lot of disappointment when it comes to daal makhni. They have nailed the daal makhni original flavors to the core. Rich and non spicy or buttery, this is love. Ideal as a full meal for 1person. Highly Recommended.

Roti Bowl Butter Chicken:

I am overwhelmed with their preparations, and this dish takes a bow. Unlike the sweeter variants of this Delhi special, I love the mild spice that balance the sweetness of the gravy. It's a must try and Highly Recommended. Beautifully Done.

Full Bowl Kaithal Biryani:

I am a Biryani fan and Kaithal too and immediately opted for this dish the moment I spotted it on the menu. Fingerlicking good. Served with mint curd, the Rice grains we're so fluffy and full of taste and aromas. The Kaithal was coated and fried in batter that kept all the juices intact. This is bestest Veg Biryani for me.

For the Cherry on Top, the pricing and portions they are offering are stellar. Packed in individual Earthern bowls that are microwave proof and so reasonably priced, I am sure I will be a regular and loyal customer to them to ask “ Aaj khaane main Kya hain”. HIGHLY...

Planned to visit this place with a few friends to try out some amazing food. Let me share my experience:

Drinks: Alphonso: This was the best drink at this place. The flavour of mango juice mixed with ice cream and khus khus was amazing. This will remind you of summers.

Vanilloreo shake: This shake was good but not that good. You can try this but I have tried much better then this one.

Food: Non Veg Platter: This was basically a chicken platter in which there were different types of chicken. Lehsooni chicken was the best in this platter. All over platter was soo good.

Veg Platter: This was full assortment of all vegetable sections, I loved the paneer tikka a lot everything else was above average but not excellent.

Fried Potato: So, you want something with your cocktails, beer or anything to have this is the thing. You can have them as chakna with your daaru😛

Dal Makhani: Dal Makhani was good but it will be much much better if it was a slightly more thick.

Mutton Rogan Josh: Mutton is love. The mutton was so good but it will be better if it was a little more spicy.

Chicken Makhani: This was the best thing in main course. This was soo good and this was basically boneless chicken in tomato and cream sauce. Basically the gravy was tooo good.

Prawn Masala: The gravy if this Prawn was soo tasty. If you are a prawn lover you can have prawn masala here.

Desserts: Phirni: This was amazing. I tried Phirni at many places but not got that good. The Phirni was amazing and the best dessert.

Litchi Ki Tehri: This is a must try adn highly recommend. It was basically a rabri base on which litchi was finely chopped and was having an amazing taste.

Everything here was amazing, if it is improved a little bit it will get excellent. The desserts were the main attraction.

Service: 5/5 Ambience:...

Veda Restaurant in New Delhi is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you step inside, you are transported to a world of luxury and elegance, with plush seating, dim lighting, and a sophisticated atmosphere.

The menu at Veda Restaurant is an eclectic mix of Indian and international cuisine, with a particular focus on North Indian and Mughlai dishes. Each dish is carefully crafted with the finest ingredients and presented beautifully, adding to the overall dining experience.

One of the standout dishes is the Murgh Tikka Makhanwala, which is a succulent chicken dish that is cooked to perfection and coated in a creamy butter sauce. The Dal Makhani is also exceptional, with a rich and flavorful sauce that perfectly complements the lentils.

The service at Veda Restaurant is exceptional, with knowledgeable and attentive staff who are always ready to assist with any queries and recommendations. The restaurant is also well-designed, with a spacious layout that allows for a comfortable dining experience.

The only downside is that the prices at Veda Restaurant are on the higher side, making it a more upscale dining option. However, the quality of the food, combined with the exceptional service and atmosphere, more than justifies the higher price point.

Overall, Veda Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for a sophisticated and memorable dining experience in New Delhi. With its exceptional food, service, and ambiance, it's no wonder that it's a favorite among locals and...

Ok, so the food is good here. The portions are huge, so be careful when ordering on a date night. The ambience is bordering at opulent and gaudy, but not still too much. The service is ok, till the time you're being served...but. But, the service attitude is downright ugly! We were levied, no slapped, with a service charge of 10%. When we refused to pay it, they came back saying it was mandatory. When we protested and asked for the manager, he said - we have printed it on the menu, so you can't not pay it now. He further went on in a flippant tone and said, I'm giving you the bill, you can do whatever you want to do with it. It was only after we used the words consumer court and said we are not going to pay, You do whatever you want to that they changed stance. To cause further discomfort, they came back with our cash saying the 500 Rupee note was torn, which it originally wasn't. I went on to tell the manager that this was done by them wilfully and that he was lying. I could see the man shaking - maybe in anger, maybe with guilt. They finally removed the service charge and returned the exact change, which we had initially put down as the tip for services rendered. We did leave that behind, because we always intended to. In the end, what was otherwise a good meal turned out to be a reminder of why people think Delhi is aggressive and uncouth, to the extent of being extortionists, that too at a restaurant. Very ugly people, running a very good restaurant.
