"INDIAN REPUBLIC CANTEEN" Where you can spend quality time with your family and friends.I have been to Indian republic canteen on Sunday with my friends. After reading all the reviews on Google and Zomato because the day was very special for us because we were reunite after 20-25 YEARS. The place was crowded and there was long waiting going on...We wait for approx. 20-30 minutes. The manager Mr.Suraj Kunwar, who was taking care of waiting gate and operations. He was very soft spoken and kind hearted person also having a good hospitality Don't choose a table or donot argue for turn because they have long waiting and give according to the number of head.So please have patience for your turn. FOOD:- If you are pure vegetarian then this place is heaven for you also there are lot of NO ONION NO GARLIC Options. The food is infused with street food and the different cuisines. As the place was already hyped on social media so we asked our server faiz and satyam to recommend us,both of them were knowledgeable on their menu.First we tried Dal pakwaan tacos,Paddu in hot garlic sauce,Samosa cannelloni,Waffle bread pakora,Dosa onion rings(we felt it was too oily). Also they recommended us south indian- Pesto dosa ,Rawa masala dosa and cheese dosa( the masala dosa can be better and the sambhar was too watery) rest it was good.We wanted to have proper dinner so they recommended us mix cuisine- Tandoori spaghetti,Mataki pizza, farmhouse pizza,Hakka noodles( the taste of hakka noodles was blend),manchurian gravy, dal makhani ,paneer tikka butter masala(it can with plain paneer,i was expecting with proper paneer tikka with capsicum. We did not complain because the service was good.Navratna Korma(it wasn't looks like navratna korma),mix veg.The bread got delay to come but it was delicious and crispy. We heard about the tea and dessert so we ordered cutting chai, masala chai but both chai wasn't up to our expectation. The presentation of the tea was good with small PARLE-G and Monkey 🐒 was really good also we had tried fried ice-cream,ice-cream sandwich, Gulab jamun and vanilla ice-cream(vanilla ice-cream has no taste of vanilla) but gulab jamun was really good and delicious, must try IRC gadbad faluda. They have buffet option also but we didnot try because we wanted to try varieties and specials. Ambience:- The ambience is reallyfascinating with the combination of modern with traditional. The walls are painted well with soothing colours with effects. The seatings are so comfortable and arranged well according to the age group. The restraunt was neat and clean as well as washroom was well maintained. We love the music. Moreover ,l felt hasitate when i had gone through some negative reviews about the restaurant food, service and management but after self experience it was totally opposite. Disappointing Experience with Slow Service

During our recent visit to the restaurant, we placed an order for four dishes. Unfortunately, only two of the dishes arrived, and there was a significant time gap of 20 minutes between each dish. Even more concerning was the fact that the remaining two dishes never made it to our table within the last 60 minutes of our dining experience. This inconsistency in service left us thoroughly disappointed.

To start with the positive aspect, the pesto dosa we received was indeed good. The flavors were well-balanced, and the dosa itself was prepared to perfection. It was a highlight of our meal and lived up to our expectations. However, we couldn't help but feel that the attention given to our order was lacking.

It appeared that the staff members taking our order were more invested in catering to larger groups or big orders, which left us with the impression that smaller orders were not a priority. This perception was further reinforced by the significant delay in receiving our dishes. Waiting for 20 minutes between each serving created an uncomfortable and disjointed dining experience.

Moreover, the fact that the remaining two dishes never arrived within the last 60 minutes was a major letdown. It not only left us hungry but also raised concerns about the efficiency and organization of the kitchen and the overall management of the restaurant.

Considering the hype surrounding this establishment, we expected a higher level of service and attention to detail. However, our experience fell short of these expectations. While the pesto dosa was commendable, the overall experience left us dissatisfied and questioning the consistency of the restaurant's service.

In conclusion, based on our recent visit, we cannot help but label the restaurant as overhyped. The slow service, significant delays between dishes, and the failure to deliver two of our ordered items within the last hour all contributed to our disappointment. We hope that the management takes these concerns into consideration and works towards improving the overall dining experience for...

I visited the INDIAN REPULIC CANTEEN for lunch buffet with my toddler on 07.07.2024. at 12.46pm. Unfortunately, the service significantly brought down the experience. The female staff came up to me 10 minutes after we were seated mentioning the table was already reserved (POINT TO BE NOTED THERE WAS NO LABEL OF RESERVATION DONE) and asked us to shift to the table with high chair. I mentioned that i have absolutely no issues in shifting but with the toddler it would be risky if the child falls off the high chair. Since the chairs are not children friendly in any case. We waited for another 5-7 minutes and the buffet was laid. Another female staff came up to mention to move when i asked her to arrange a table for me; else i would better leave and have my lunch else where. She just rolled her eyes and walked away. After another 5 minutes when no one came up and i started with my lunch. I was feeding my toddler when another female staff turned up asking me to move. There was significant crowd and the other customers started looking at me. It felt so disrespectful. My child was eating and the female staff kept poking me again and again to move. The entire ordeal continued for around 20 minutes. Later i was asked to move to another table. i just got up in middle of meal (TO BE NOTED) and the female staff took my bag and knew it on the chair. At the billing too i asked them for cheque but no one bothered to listen. Instead i was asked to vacate the table with my toddler and i had to myself ask the receptionist to make my cheque. THE MOST DISGUSTING FEMALE STAFF YOU WILL FIND IN ANY RESTURANT. Throughout the meal, it was difficult to enjoy the meals and the experience was distasteful. NEVER TO VISIT...

@indianrepubliccanteen offers a vibrant culinary journey for vegetarians and food enthusiasts alike. Nestled in the heart of the city in Connaught Place, this gem of a restaurant seamlessly blends global flavors into irresistible street food delights. From mouthwatering Dal pakwan tacos bursting with color and flavor to Samosa Cannelloni - savory samosas with a modern twist, each dish is a celebration of creativity and taste. For those craving something a bit lighter, Waffle bread pakora, Vada pav and Mini pyaaz kachori is a must try. One standout dish is their Misal pav. The presentation is thoughtfully infused. The combination of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors creates a symphony of taste that delights the palate with every bite. We personally loved their Amritsari kulcha chana. It had a harmonious balance of texture and flavour leaving us satisfied. In addition to this innovative menu, a visit here would be incomplete without trying their desserts. A few recommendations are their Jalebi Waffle and fried ice-cream but their Ice cream sandwich offers a sweet finale to the sumptuous meal. You must also try their Boba cold coffee and Lemon iced tea. We too loved their Cutting Chai (served in a quirky glass) alongside our meal. Also, they're serving a Vegetarian buffet priced at just Rs 495/- per person. (Inaugural price) So good. Isn't it? The inviting ambiance and friendly staff add to the overall experience, making it a must-visit for those craving inventive vegetarian fare with a street food flair.
