Zen in Connaught Place isn't just a restaurant; it's an immersive experience for anyone craving authentic Chinese cuisine in a truly captivating setting. From the moment you step through their doors, you're greeted by an ambiance that's both elegant and inviting, with tasteful decor that whispers of Asian artistry.
What truly sets Zen apart, beyond its stunning looks, is the perfectly curated background music. It's subtle yet soulful, enhancing the dining experience without ever being intrusive. It creates an atmosphere that’s ideal for deep conversations, a relaxed evening with friends, or a romantic dinner.
And then, of course, there's the food – a remarkable journey through the best of Chinese culinary traditions. My recent visit was highlighted by two absolute standouts: the Chicken Fried Rice was perfectly cooked, fragrant, and bursting with flavor – exactly what you hope for. But the true star was the Zen Special Chicken. This dish was simply phenomenal, a unique and incredibly delicious creation that I'm still thinking about. Every bite was a testament to their culinary skill and dedication to fresh, high-quality ingredients.
The service was equally impressive, attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The staff were happy to guide us through the menu and ensure our glasses were never empty.
If you're searching for an authentic Chinese restaurant in Delhi that excels not just in its exquisite food (especially their Chicken Fried Rice and must-try Zen Special Chicken!) but also in creating a memorable dining atmosphere with fantastic background music, look no further than Zen. It’s truly a 5-star experience and a must-visit for...
Read moreThe worst Chinese restaurant you can ever see. They have a very poor quality of service. The staff members keep gossiping in a corner. The prices have been kept very high however the food quality and the taste isn't up to the mark. The food was served with just no salt at all and on top of it no apologies were made by the Chef or the staff members to which they very easily said "the chef might have forgotten, you can add the salt which is kept on the table".
There was some food that was not eaten for which we asked them to pack it up properly, initially they were very much reluctant to pack it up and said that we do not pack the leftover food but when insisted again they came back with a very cheap quality plastic packing worst than what you get on road side stalls.
I even asked the manager on the 1st floor that just an apology would have worked, he kept mum but did not apologise even after that.
We went there seeing 2000+ reviews but the quality of food and behaviour of staff is just not up to the mark.
The ambience is quite serene and nice. I would have loved to go there again and recommended others but only if the quality is being worked upon.
@ Zen owners - please don't take it as a negative review, it's a suggestion and an eye opener for you as I believe you would have invested pretty good amount of your funds in this restaurant but if you do not take care of your clients someone else will. The only thing you need to work upon sraff and...
Read moreOne of the oldest Asian food restaurants in Delhi's Connaught Palace area, Zen is on the pricier side and not a place that everyone can afford. While the food is decent (we ordered quite a lot of food but nothing stood out) the drinks cost more than double the MRP and make you wonder why would anyone want to spend so much on a drink when it will cost half the price just down the road. I only give 3 stars at the staff was polite, though not as attentive as they should be. Despite the price, the place is crowded with business associates during lunch hour and you might have to wait a bit if you have a group of people with you. Plus points - The restaurant has gone digital on its booking menu so no paper wastage (they still have an old-style menu for customers) and unless you have rowdy customers around you the restaurant is quiet for one to discuss business over lunch, which I believe is the reason this place so busy.
Location wise it's right in the crowded area of Block A, thus can be missed unless you are looking at the store names. Parking would be a nightmare over the weekdays but you can find a few spots close by over the weekend.
P.S. The tables have a very interesting Chinese Calendar for you to know your birth year animal, but it seems a very wrong personality chart as out of 4 of us, it got not even 1 person's personality correctly based on their birth...
