Ahling Chinese Corner — Restaurant in Pune

An absolute gem in Pune, James the owner and head chef has maintained a high level of authentic Chinese cuisine in Pune for over 2 decades. Every dish here is unique in its flavor, simplicity and authenticity. I was pleasantly surprised to find that each item I ordered had a different taste and flavor. I discovered a new hot and sour soup, much to my delight! Unlike the traditional hot and sour, this one was not a dark brown, but a light creamy color and wonderfully spiced. Highly recommend it. The mushroom fried rice was another delight. A light and delightful change from the heavy and oily dishes served elsewhere, this one was light and flavourful with the mushroom standing out amongst the flavors. Another recommendation. The steamed wontons were similarly delightful, not oily and heavy, but light and each bite was filled with the perfect amount of meat and vegetables. I highly recommend dipping them in the garlic chili sauce provided at each table. A perfect accompaniment. Everything we ordered was different in its flavor and taste, not overly flavored and the uniqueness of the ingredients are allowed to shine. Better lunch option.

Now i just finished one of the lunch option provided by ahling team. I ordered cantose rice, red chilli chicken, ahling special chicken noodles and salad. This was so delicious and worthy. First time ever i am eating this kind of good food. I am so impressed with your service.

When we are going in detail the food are in accurate spices. Normallu in Chinese food, won't give that much spices. But in here they use accurate quantity of spices. So as a keralite it impressed me a lot. The red chilli chicken was not upto the mark as compared to kerala special chilli chicken, i experienced only like dragon chicken.

One of the other specialty that i was faced that, the salad was damn cool. I never ate such kind of good salad before. I like the way how it maked and i am really think to make it in such a way.

Ahling special chicken noodles is also a diffrent kind of experience, it won't usually get in kerala. As of that i liked it a lot and if you put little more spice it would be better.

Is anyone want to try Chinese food in pune please try ahling. It is a very nice and good option.

Going by the good reviews of many I ordered dinner (chicken fried rice, chicken hakka noodles, spring rolls and chicken in hot garlic sauce) a few days back from this place, but to my utter disappointment I found the dishes very average. First thing we noticed after opening the packs were a stinky smoky smell, which was not the typical coal or charred smoky smell but a rather bad one. That put me off already. Now coming to the dishes-

1. The starter chicken spring rolls were very chewy with excessive flour.
2. The fried rice tasted good but was very oily.
3. They use thin desi Chow Chow for hakka noodles which is very unusual! All other good restaurants use the thick ones. The small chicken pieces in the noodles were coated thickly with cornflour which made them soggy. Hakka noodles are my favourite but this one was dissatisfactory.
4. The chicken in hot garlic sauce was average with again the chicken pieces heavily coated with flour. Also didn't get the typical garlic flavour. Overall for me it was not a good experience and not going to order again. Spending around 1200 bucks and getting such average food is really...
