We recently visited Atharva Silver Leaf Thali, and unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing.
As we entered, there was no one to attend to us. After waiting for about 3-4 minutes, a waiter finally came and placed a silver plate in front of us, which shockingly had visible dirt marks.
It took another 10 minutes before food was served.
The thali menu included: white kadhi, katachi amti, gulabjamun, mataki usal, kakdi koshimbir, batata sabji, bhendi sabji, til chutney, small batata wada, aluwadi, kothimbir wadi, fulka, puranpoli, puri, masalebhat, and white rice.
Taste-wise, the food was mostly delicious, except for the kakdi koshimbir which was a bit sour.
The food was initially served cold. When we asked for hot food, the service became even slower. For example, they served one fulka/puranpoli to me, and only after that, served my husband and son. The same pattern continued for kothimbir wadi, aluwadi, and batata wada — extremely slow and inconvenient. Fried items are too oily
Strangely, the welcome drink (kairich panha) was served only when we were about to finish our lunch.
Service was overall terrible — we had to call the waiter every single time for each item. It felt like nobody was interested in serving us.
Even after finishing the food, we had to request the bill multiple times.
The bill included 9% SGST and 9% CGST. Prices: Adult thali – ₹600 + 18% GST, Kids my kids is 5 year old and they charged his thali ₹299 + 18% GST.
👉 Overall Impression: The entire experience was pathetic. From unclean plates to unprofessional service, delayed food, and lack of basic hospitality, it was extremely disappointing. My suggestion to the management: if you are not prepared or do not wish to serve lunch guests, please do not keep the restaurant open — such experiences ruin someone’s day.
I would never recommend Atharva Silver Leaf...
Read moreWould have rated 0 out of 5. They serve cold food. I was served cold puran poli. When asked to replace with a hot one, the waiter went and brought the same puran poli but burnt. Kadhi was also served cold in the silver bowl. When asked for hot, it was served in plastic bowl. I wonder whether the “FINE DINING” restaurant named Atharva Silver Leaf fell short of silver bowls.
Felt unwanted as a customer. The waiters are not trained properly. Even the parking boy does not have sense of talking to people and greeting.
Felt cheated as a customer as the advertisement is completely different than the food served. I hope they don’t get sued for misleading advertisement. The menu which is served definitely doesn’t go with the Silver thali experience such as Kala masalyachi bhaji. Gulab jamun which is served is not made with Khawa/Khoya. Low quality material is used for food preparation.
I can’t tell how much the restaurant and the owner has paid the social media influencers to visit and advertise. But I would definitely want to tell every such influencer that they may lose trust of their genuine followers if they collaborate with such type of FINE DINING RESTAURANT.
Unlike the real banana leaf, the silver leaf plate is very inconvenient to eat from. As we pay Rs 600 for one thali, it is definitely not worth it. When you pay this much money for a thali, some standards from the establishments are expected. Focusing just on a silver plate has made this place a FANCY TIFFIN MESS, nothing more than that. The attitude of the staff is very important in hospitality business. I hope the owner works on that as well.
I wish all the luck (because you need it) for your...
Read moreIt is not very often that I post negative reviews but here is one, and I think you will understand why.
The price of Rs 599 per person isn’t exactly cheap. Once you consider this price, you expect some minimum standards. I was let down on several fronts.
The banana leaf plate is silverware, as were the bowls / वाट्या. But no such silver for water!! You get plastic bottles. Now, plastic bottles elsewhere may be fine, but in a restaurant which prides itself in serving you in silverware, the reason for so many cameras looking at you!!
The service started with a chapati / पोळी, which was waiting for other items. It was another 10 minutes when they finished serving the other items, by which time the chapati was cold!! Why start with chapati??
While the food was authentic and perfectly edible, it certainly lacked a wow factor. The basundi / बासुंदी….it is an insult to call what was served basundi. They served something like a kheer - even homemade kheer is denser.
Okay, you finish eating and wash your hands. How to you dry them?? Use the thin paper tissues provided on the table!! Again, I don’t have an issue with tissue paper, but not here when you are paying Rs 599 for a meal. How hard is it to provide a nice cotton / cloth napkin like many ‘normal restaurants’ provide?
Finally, the wall bang opposite the entrance door is dirty - not something which one hopes to see in a restaurant of this type.
Perhaps I went on a bad day. Perhaps it is better on other days- perhaps……who knows….I will certainly spend Rs...
