I visited Tea Spot Cafe recently, hoping to enjoy a peaceful environment to attend my online appointments. The ambiance was indeed quiet and conducive to working, which initially made me feel I had made the right choice.

As per the cafe's policy, I understood that ordering food and drinks was mandatory, and I complied by purchasing a black coffee, which was reasonably priced. I even informed the staff that I would be ordering food once my appointment concluded.

However, less than 45 minutes into my visit—and while I was still on an important call—a staff member abruptly knocked on the door and interrupted me. She insisted, rather bluntly, that I had been sitting for "too long" and needed to order more. I politely signaled that I would come down as soon as I was off the call.

When I did, I was told their boss had specifically called to instruct the staff to push me to order. I was further lectured about their policies, despite having made it clear earlier that I intended to place a food order after my meeting.
