I recently visited Joshi Wadewale and had the pleasure of trying their iconic Sabudana Khichadi, Sabudana Vada, and Batata Bhaji. Here’s my experience:
Sabudana KhichadiThe Sabudana Khichadi at Joshi Wadewale is truly a treat for the taste buds. The pearls of sabudana were perfectly cooked, maintaining their slightly chewy texture without becoming mushy. The seasoning was spot on, with just the right balance of spices and a hint of sweetness from the peanuts. The addition of fresh coriander and a squeeze of lemon elevated the dish, making it light yet flavorful.
Sabudana VadaNext, I tried the Sabudana Vada, which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Each bite was a delightful combination of crunch and softness, with the vada having a nice, even texture. The spices were well-balanced, and the vada was not too oily, which is often a challenge with deep-fried foods. It was served with a side of cooling yogurt dip, which complemented the vada perfectly.
Batata BhajiThe Batata Bhaji was another highlight of the meal. The potatoes were cooked to perfection, retaining a slight firmness while being tender enough to melt in your mouth. The seasoning was just right, with a good mix of spices that provided warmth without overpowering the natural flavor of the potatoes. The dish was garnished with fresh coriander, adding a touch of freshness to each bite.
Overall, Joshi Wadewale delivered an excellent culinary experience. The dishes were prepared with care, and the flavors were authentic and satisfying. If you’re looking for delicious and well-executed Maharashtrian snacks, Joshi Wadewale is definitely...
