Okay, let's talk about my experience at Marz-o-rin on 31/12/2023. First of all, I have to say that I was immediately drawn in by the charm of the restaurant - it's housed in a beautiful old building that is over 100 years old! That in itself is impressive. And once I stepped inside, I was struck by the lively atmosphere and bustling energy.
I learned that Marz-o-rin has been around since 1965, making it one of the first fast-food spots in Pune. And while it may have started with just four items on the menu, it now boasts over 150! That's quite an expansion. But even with a large menu, they still maintain their core values of serving good food with fast service and affordable prices.
I was especially impressed with their variety of whole-wheat products and options for those with dietary restrictions - they even have sugar-free cakes! And of course, the classic fast food items like sandwiches, rolls, and burgers did not disappoint. I also couldn't resist trying some of the delicious fruit drinks, milkshakes, and ice creams.
When it comes to seating, Marz-o-rin definitely has enough space to comfortably accommodate a large crowd of hungry diners. However, keep in mind that it's a self-service restaurant, so you'll have to grab your own food and beverages. And while they don't have a designated parking area, you can usually find street parking nearby.
The one downside is that the restaurant is not easily accessible for those in wheelchairs. I hope that they can improve on this in the future.
Overall, I had a great experience at Marz-o-rin. The vibrant atmosphere, delicious food, and quick service make it a must-visit spot in Pune. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a full meal, Marz-o-rin has something for everyone. So next time you're in the area, be sure to stop by and try out their famous sandwiches, rolls, and burgers for yourself. You won't be...
Read moreI started going to Marz-O-Rin in 1992, a favorite spot from my college days due to its good yet affordable food and convenient MG Road location. However, over time, the food quality dropped, and hygiene standards hit a low. The staff lacked customer focus – the cashier was often on the phone, and serving staff were indifferent. Today, on February 3rd, 2024, I was pleasantly surprised by a positive change. The customer service improved significantly, with staff serving at the table and a cleaner environment. They've upgraded cutlery and maintained food quality. The positive transformation, following the owner's demise in December 2024, is commendable. A suggestion: train the staff on customer service while maintaining competitive pricing and high food standards.
I deliberately reduced the rating from 4 to 2 after my visit to Marz-O-Rin on 25th May, 2024. Despite of the restaurant making drastic changes to improve customer satisfaction levels, I have consistently experienced 3rd class service by the people who serve in this restaurant. They behave and speak with customers as if we are at their mercy and with a “we don’t care attitude”. Rough, Threatening language often used by the servers. I don’t think this can be improved with their existing staff as their DNA cannot be changed. The owner will have to replace...
Read moreMy recent visit with friends and family was a complete disaster. The staff's behavior was rude and utterly disgusting, and the food quality was just awful. This place clearly thrives on hype rather than quality. We were immediately told to move upstairs from a downstairs table that two young boys had just vacated, with the excuse that it was for "senior citizens"—a rule nowhere to be found. To make matters worse, when my daughter tried to eat an ice cream I bought from a nearby shop, a staff member arrogantly told us it wasn't allowed, again, with no prior warning or signage. A truly pathetic and disgusting establishment.
Option 4 (Slightly More Formal) Our inaugural visit with friends and family proved to be a highly unsatisfactory experience. Both the service and staff exhibited exceptionally rude and unprofessional conduct, while the food quality was notably poor. The establishment appears to be largely overrated. We encountered unjustified restrictions, such as being asked to vacate a downstairs seating area designated for "senior citizens" without any visible signage. Furthermore, staff members arrogantly prohibited the consumption of outside food, specifically an ice cream purchased for my daughter, again in the absence of any clear policy display. It was a thoroughly disappointing and...
