Hotel Ritz — Hotel in Pune

Decent rooms at a decent rate. I booked 7 rooms here for a function. Location is excellent due to its proximity to the railway station. Yet to use the facilities but will update once I avail their services.

Updated: overall service is lax. We ordered tea at 11am and it came at 1pm. The rooms we had booked and were supposed to check in by 12 noon were handed over to us quarter to 2. A simple thing as water is also not provided in the rooms. After reminding three times the water came after half an hour, that too in a jug. Any self respecting hotel provides mineral water bottles in the room. Any additional bottles can be charged but at least provide the basic! The staff is genial but seems lethargic. This hotel is only running due to the name or used to have, otherwise there's absolutely nothing going for it. Honestly I would have given negative rating for all the troubles we faced but there is no provision to do so. My opinion is that if you have no other choice left, no hostels left, no option but to sleep on Park benches, only...

The word "Ritz" has become synonymous with high-living and glamour especially among luxury hotels eg. Ritz-Carlton (US) Ritz Hotel and Ritz Hotel(both founded in London and Paris by Cesar Ritz) .|Since then the name has been freely borrowed by standard hotels across the world to cash in the association despite not having all the trimmings.|The Ritz in Pune is one of them although it does to masquerade as anything other than a|budget hotel with a convenient central location and within shouting distance of the Railway Station and the General Post Office.|The accomodation is comfortable and clean and it would be advisable to select a room not facing the noisy main road. |There are many cheaper eating places in the vicinity, but do not forego the Gujarati Thali served in the Ritz Restaurant which while a trifle expensive is the usp of the hotel and a|tasty dining experience and value for money.|So don't mind the ritzy name. Few rooms are ok else most of the rooms need urgent repairs and maintenance. The restaurant is nothing great and the tea served is in steel glass which looks very cheap. The location is good but parking is a problem . I recommend this place for singles but not that great for families . The building is beautiful but it's in bad shape and needs urgent repairs . Few rooms the toilets are good and in few the pots are old with dirty old seats , the washbasin is old and look bad, the shower doesn't work well and broken tiles in the bathroom .. the place is not that expensive but the state it is in you feel that you end up paying more. The staff is excellent and the reception staff are extremely polite specially the one who was at the front desk on the 13th April 2019 late night .
